Even before Ronaldo is in the squad and Rashford returns, Martial is first off the bench btw. Van de Beek and Lingard will never get a look, but OGS keeps going with the "part of my plans" shtick (two years running in VdB's case). I think he just likes to collect players, not like he's got a wage bill to be concerned about.

You can see the contact, plus the foot is being bent back, plus the shin pad is moving around Neves’ leg.

but even with no contact, studs up in a sliding tackle is always a foul. Always.
