If they bring the game they've brought this far to the playoffs it will be a short series regardless of how good the matchup looks on paper.

This, 100%. The Islanders have played much better than the Bruins so far. Yes they've had to being in an elimination situation, and I'm not sure the Panthers really turned up, but they're definitely rolling along nicely. No doubt Boston matches up well against them, but that won't mean anything if we don't significantly improve our game.

But it can be done. Things change quickly in playoff land. Last year the Islanders swept the Pens and looked amazing in the 1st round, only to roll over tamely to the Canes in the next. For all their issues, we know what the Bruins are capable of when they click. With the Islanders you feel the Bs will at least have a chance to keep things tight and grind out a result even if their offense is still sluggish in coming fully up to speed.

I agree we need to improve to beat Isles or Canes but I personally don't see a big advantage in playing either .

I do see a big difference in tbay or philly though so I hope we follow the result of the philly tbay game .

Suddenly everyone says philly is a cup contender well mark my words they better beat tbay tomorrow or they will be out in 6 against probably columbus or possibly leafs if they pull a miracle .

Bjork might be our best player so far, I think we may be watching different games my friend
I just watch what I can at work on my phone. He is -2 with zero points in 2 games. Maybe he did somethting good when I was not looking at my phone and good for him if he did but he has been putting up < Chris Kelly numbers all season without being a defensive specialist like Kelly was.

That poster has it in for Bjork for some reason, so I wouldn't put any stock in what he says about his play on the ice.
I don’t have it in for Bjork. I like him as a person but he does not bring anything. If you are not gonna put up points on a scoring line you better be damn good defensively and he is not. If he turned into a 20 goal 40+ point player I would be thrilled but he has shown nothing so far.

Like I said I can only watch these games on my phone at work so maybe he has looked good in these round robin games but he did not look good all season and should not play over Kase, Ritchie or Studnicka if we are trying to win.

The way this is turning out, I cannot say I am too upset about the two losses. Somehow I would rather the Bruins play against Canes/Islanders than Toronto/Price (2014 still haunting me in my dreams). I know they’ve beaten Toronto every time they played a series this past decade, but always 7 games and if they beat Columbus now, they will be riding high.

I'm leery playing any team coming off a high....Should Toronto pull this off I wouldn't want to face them either.

Canes worry me because that team is darn good. Islanders worry me because to this day the Barzal thing still pisses me off.

Screw what music to play. Screw what goal horn to use.

If it was me I’d have a zillion card cutouts of their wives, kids and families placed throughout the stands.
Remind them to get it in gear cause people are actually watching.
I like this idea.

...and screw "fake" crowd noise. Put up a disclaimer about the swearing and let us hear what is being said on the ice and bench.

I would go
Marchand Bergeron Pastrnak
Debrusk Krejci Kase/Studnicka
Ritchie Coyle Studnicka/Kase
Nordstrom Kuraly Wagner

I honestly do not see Bjork being capable of doing anything positive for this team. I hope he can prove me wrong but he has been bad for most of the season now.
What ??? I like what I have seen from Bjork.

We are playing like the worst team in hockey. I am however happy with the NYI/CAR draw over SMURF/Blue colored team possibility.

Yep, teams that barely survive a first round scare often times find their way to the finals.

If the Bruins get the no. 3 seed and assuming all of the favourites win ( a big assumption I know ) who are the Bruins likely to be playing in round 2 as the no.3 seed ?

Agree. One of his best lines I heard him chirp to a fan heckling him was "How much did you pay for that ticket to watch me play?"

A couple of years ago when the B's were plying the flyers in Boston Giroux was doing his usual at hacking Bergy. Brad did not like it so after a shift when they were skating back to the benches he ran the blade of his stick along Giroux. Right in front of us the ref called Brad over and wagged his finger at Marchy. We couldn't see what the ref said as his back was to us but Brad leaned in and said "Bite me" to the ref. Even the ref laughed.

I doubt Philly loses to either TO or Columbus.
