Funny thing. Nečas means "bad weather" in Czech so Hurricanes are definitely the team for him.

Question for people who have actually seen him play, do you think he'll be a center or a winger in the NHL?
Based on his relentless style of play, defensive ability, and already being good at faceoffs I've read that it seems as though he should be able to stick at center in the NHL.
Having seen him in a couple of the prospect camp sessions, including the scrimmage, the thing that strikes me is that he's still so physically immature. Long and lanky, like a kid who needs to have a sandwich and hit the weight room.
Given what he's already able to do with that frame, I'm looking forward to seeing him in 3 years or so after he grows into his man-body. If the extra muscle doesn't slow him down, he'll have NHL center written all over him.
BTW, I'd echo the above that the Canes are absolutely ok with him going back to CR for another year. He's not quite ready for the NHL yet, and we're not so desperate to plug a roster hole that we would put him in a position to struggle. Better that he goes home, focuses on his development, and comes back when the Canes are a better team. I have little doubt he'll be in the regular lineup by 2020, the question is whether he's at center or wing, and whether he's a support player or a core piece.
He's not very good at faceoffs and I wouldn't call his style of play relentless either. However, given his skating ability, vision and two-way play, I also think he should become an NHL center down the road.
The buzz around Necas is very reminiscent of the post draft buzz around McAvoy last year. Not necessarily a lot of pre-draft hype but as soon as prospect camp fired up (and for McAvoy the World Junior A challenge) everyone is like "Whoa.....this kid can really play"
Hopefully we get to see him in the World Juniors this December, I'd love to see him in the AHL, or even the CHL but it sounds like that's not in the cards
