I know TFP isn't always regarded as legit and more like clickbait. But they are reporting that the Isles are exploring trading Nick Leddy and Thomas Hickey.

Leddy is one of the LDs I've wanted. He, Gostisbehere, Fowler, and Brodie are players I've liked to see as Habs.

Somebody more credible said they would be looking to move Leddy before.

Between the rumours of Leddy, Ghost, Fowler and Gardiner as a FA there's no reason Bergevin shouldn't be able to get a LHD.

Myself ,i'd give the 15th to Oilers for JP...

You could always ask Ken Holland for a later pick too..

like Montreal 15th overall and a 6th rounder in 2019 for JP and a Oilers 5th rounder in 2019 etc...

I agree. The only one I'd consider moving the 15th is if it's for Ghost. And even there, it depends what the deal is exactly.

Oh yeah. He's got what 3 more years at 4.25 or something cheap like that.

Fowler is a lot for a long time.

Leddy isn't as good as some.

Gardiner is free in terms of assets. Well, I guess cap space is an asset to a smart GM.

I heard that many time over the years..lol

We got 10 picks this year...3 in the top 50 ....we could deal the 15th for JP and not even have any effect on us....

I just checked the Oilers draft 2019, they got no 5th this year only a 4th ...

So Jesse Puljujarvi and Oiler 4th in 2019 to Montreal
To the Oilers(Montreal's) 15th overall and a 5th or 6th rounder in 2019....

Jesse Puljujarvi came into NHL at 18 like Kotkanemi did ...(in an Oilers hot mess).His first 93 games as an Oiler 28 pts...

Jesperi Kotkanemi as a Habs ,first 79 games 32 pts...

A solid LD and I don't see too many holes in this lineup. Maybe a bit weak on the wings but I think Drouin could turn it around and we've got nice prospects

If I were MB, I would also entertain the idea of trading this year's first round pick because the Habs have a history of drafting busts at this spot.

yeah, and if we offer sheet , they offer sheet Nick Suzuki ..or someone of our guys down the road....or Oilers no longer trading partners with Montreal etc...Are Holland and Bergy friends(Team Canada??) Best to make a easy deal and own the guy in this situation . $2.5 million for 4 years.$3.5 for 5 yrs etc....could be a steal of a century

Jesse Puljujarvi and his camp believe he is being mismanaged...and it's the Oilers i won't disagree .
He wants out , a new city...

I agree. The only one I'd consider moving the 15th is if it's for Ghost. And even there, it depends what the deal is exactly.

I love Ghost, the new league style has been benefiting him, it makes me wonder what the Wiz would have been able to do in this modern era. I don't think Bergevin will trade for Ghost; because, whether he's right or not he's been building his D corp with defensive specialists during his tenure, trying Canadian toughness and grit to make it far in the playoffs. I think this year was a fluke, I think this is a mistake; as Ghost is a world changer for the transition game.

If he isn't too costly, yeah, anytime, the type of 'project' we can afford on our bottom 6 and hope develops into something. Still very young, and I think -very- lost into Edmonton mess. Shouldn't have been brought that early in the NHL...

Still, would take him for a 'reclamation project' kinda cost. Just too bad it's not Chiarelli anymore.

Roslovic and Patrick are 2 names I'd give way more, though.

Poolparty and KK could be a great tandem for a very long time. I’m all for getting Jesse here and have been for some time. It comes down to price.

Pretty much the only trade I would do is something around Poolparty for Lehkonen. Probably a + from the Oilers side.
