I don't know if it has been posted but the flyers Facebook page posted a link to a statement saying that he has been informed of the buyout. So it seems official now

He didn't have a good year as with most of the team including the GM and Coach. I still think Briere gets a bit too much of a bum rap. He was frustrating this year but he was injured. I gave my jabs saying he was faking his concussion so he wouldn't be traded but I don't think he would stoop so low...he doesn't have much to stoop anyway

I was never really a big Briere fan, but the guy really stepped-up his game come playoff time. Can't say anything bad about him, but it's just time we moved on all together. I wouldnt even want him back at half the price
