It's really not that great. I know people are going to go wild about that because it's Scoresese, DeNiro and Pacino but there's absolutely no reason this movie had to be 3 and a half hours. The CGI faces, especially for DeNiro, I found to be unbelievably distracting. Like others have mentioned in this thread watching old man DeNiro "violently" attack the grocer was ridiculous. I have no idea how something like that, which is so easily fixed, makes it through to the final cut of the film.
The big positives are Pacino's and Pesci's performances which are excellent. Older Pesci is perfect for the toned down mobster he plays here and Pacino still has all his abilities.
Pesci will get a nomination and maybe ray Romano as well.
With the three main actors all past their 75th birthdays, Pacino brought his usual game. Pesci brought a good toned down version of his usual gangster role, but Bobby d did not bring the energy to the role it needed.
If this movie had been made 20 years ago I think that it could have great. But Sheeran died in 2003 and I think while he was alive the movie could have been made because he would obviously been arrested.
Like many I like mob movies and stories. And I don't believe that the two major kills he got credited for in the movie is crap. The first one(I will not mention the name so not to spoil the movie or events) is because there is just to much proof that there were in fact 4 shooters and who they were.
The second murder the FBI while listing him originally as a suspect removed him from the list because he could not be two places at the same time. There was not enough time for him go from point a to point b and then back to point a. The car was tailed and the FBI had reports on where they were and what they were doing.
