This is an NHL franchise, not a charity. We could just as well sign the legendary Markov as a scout or a front office person and pay him $100k instead of $2M. I love Markov, the only thing the Habs owe him is a pre-game special to thank him for what he's done. I think they will wait until he is officially retired or if he signs with another team and plays against us.

Markov is a one of the very best Dmen the Habs have had in their history. If you don't think he deserves special recognition for that, you're a thankless fan indeed.

He's earned both respect and admiration. The current management are a classless lot, and this describes the Bergevin tenure to date perfectly.
