That Jaros pass would make Karlsson proud.

Also you guys are underrating White, his floor is a 2C, with a reaaally good chance at being 1C caliber.

I hope so.

I know I am getting WAY ahead of myself here, but if White could develop into a 70 point, defensive center ala Kopitar this team is golden.

I love Turris, but I don't know if he can be the top center of a cup-winning team.

His floor is 2C ? That's an extremely high floor

I'd say his "floor" is pretty in line with your expectations for what he will turn into. As in, its realistic, but on the low end of the "realistic" scale. The poster you replied to is on the high end of the "realistic" ceiling scale for White. I see him having a Horcoff-esque career in terms of production - with about 5-10 more goals per season, a higher "average" season, and maybe a slightly lower - but longer - statistical peak than Horcoff's single 73 point season (with only 3 other seasons with 50+pts)

It is, but he does everything extremely well.

There's really no weaknesses in his game, and he's an extremely hard worker always looking to improve. I'd be extremely shocked if he became anything less than a top 6 player.

That 1.00 PPG threshold seems to be a pretty good indicator of future NHL success.

Think we have two blue chippers ,in White and Chabot. That draft could bode very well for the success of the team in the very near future

It's the deepest draft since 2003 so that would make sense considering this team's drafting pedigree.

It would come as no surprise if we pulled out two excellent picks with our 1st rounders in 2015.

A top-6 F and a top-4 D would do wonders for this team, especially considering they would be free...

Hopefully we can get rid of the deadweight on the team (Chiasson, Neil, Cowen, Wiercioch, etc.), and surround the incoming youth (Chabot, White, Prince/Puempel) with a veteran or two in the off-season.

Implying?

Chris Phillips was a great dman for 90% of his 1000+ game career, one of the better ones even. Him being played out of his depth in his twilight years due to Cowen and Weircioch sucking on top of management overestimating our depth does nothing to diminish his accomplishment.

The amount of disrespect Chris Phillips gets from this fanbase is ****ing sickening.

Also heavily ridiculous and ignorant. It must be coming from people who have only been fans for 2-3 years and don't recognize that players do decline, which is perfectly natural according to the human body

Hopefully we can get rid of the deadweight on the team (Chiasson, Neil, Cowen, Wiercioch, etc.), and surround the incoming youth (Chabot, White, Prince/Puempel) with a veteran or two in the off-season.

Deadweight would still be there next year. It would just be different names. I can already predict Michalek, Boro, Smith and MacArthur.

and yes, that is his floor. I was at Notre Dame last weekend and in Boston at the Beanpot last night. You really have no idea how much this kid affects the outcome of every game. Several GM's in attendance said exactly that. Did you not notice the WJC when he played Canada...where he was player of the game. You should keep that in mind as you continually diminish how good he will be and is.

I just don't buy into every piece of hype I heard. 2C is an INCREDIBLY high floor. That's 1st overall draft pick floor. Maybe we're just defining things differently.

I'm quite sure that this guy will be a good NHL player fora long time. That in itself is quite the statement I would think.

Do I watch him game in game out? No. Last night was the 6th time I've seen him play. I just don't think that at ABSOLUTE WORST he's a 2nd line center in the NHL. That's what floor to me means.

I don't consider the players you mentioned "deadweight"... Especially not Mac...

Unless you mean the whipping boys will be different, in which case I kind of agree.

There will be other whipping boys, but there has to be an effort to IMPROVE.

You can't improve when half your RWs combine for 4 goals (Chiasson, Neil)... You can't improve when you've been waiting for 1/3 of your defense to break-out (Cowen, Wiercioch)...

It's time to move on from those players and try something new. The new might not be better (I'm almost sure it will though), but it's time to explore.

McCormick, Robinson, White, Puempel, Prince are all players that can be playing instead of Neil and Chiasson. Those are cheap internal replacements/improvements, and those are important for a budget team like the Sens.

You make great points... Really like the highlighted... In an ideal world, we'd be only waiting for ONE of Wiercioch or Cowen to break out, not both... and that causes a big problem. And we wouldn't have TWO 4th line RWers. But to be fair, if MacArthur and Michalek were healthy, Michalek could be the 3rd line RW and then only ONE of Chiasson or Neil would play at the same time....

I am ready and I have accepted that Chiasson and Cowen won't work here. Let them have another chance somewhere else, I am sure they will be able to make their mark. Neil I hope will retire, he did enough for this team and hope he won't continue because if he does, fans will start to disrespect him even more.

And concerning the "deadweight"... I was talking about NEXT year... Once the actual suspect will be gone, I could easily see the players I have mentionned become "deadweight"... There will always be "scapegoats" and "deadweight". It's impossible that 21 hockey players perform and produce up to the (unrealistic) fans expectations every year...

I am saying that once Chiasson, Neil, Cowen, Wiercioch are gone; Michalek, Boro, Smith and MacArthur will be the next in line (some because of injuries slowing them down)

At some point you have to call a spade a spade. He doesnt deserve to be disrespected but truth is that he might not be cut out for the NHL anymore or alternatively there might be younger players who can contribute more at a cheaper price. Its not about Chris Neil its about who's the next Chris Neil for me now.

I think he is a 2C if he just solidifies his game now. Maybe a 1C if he keeps going. 2C seems pretty achievable

2C is the floor of a top 5 pick. Maybe even top 3.

White's floor is 3C, which is really, really good.

Don't agree with your "rule".. Alfredsson, Stone, Hoffman are examples on the Sens.
Dylan Larkin is a 2nd liner floor
Look at Connor he is a 1st or 2nd liner 17th.
Benn was 129th
Gaudreau 104th

I think White has a realistic shot at being a top 6 forward there really is no rule governing these guys development.

Still way too early to tell what White's ceiling or floor is in the NHL.

He's a very, very good college player, that's it, nothing else. Let's see how he does in the AHL before clamouring how good he'll be.

Then again, with how crappy this team is, I wouldn't be surprised to see White and Chabot rushed into the NHL in a vain attempt to stem the awful torrents of blood this franchise is losing from every orifice imaginable.

That would be a mistake. We need some vision and a plan
