If he goes to the AHL that is a year off of his contract. Once he plays pro it starts.

Edit - as long as he has signed his ELC. He could go to the AHL and play the 9 game limit and then come back even if he has signed.

I thought this is how it works too, however just seen an article about the Red Wings and Zadina. Holland said he will play up some games this year for the Wings but wont cross the 9 game threshold for burning a year off his ELC. Not sure if him being a European makes any difference, but he clearly is in a similar scenario.

Looking towards the future here's what Windsor has to build with in terms of picks and the conditions on the as well as prospects and their current stats etc.
Picks and conditions from the draft pick database while player info from Elite Prospects (as of today) and OHL draft information.
Can't guarantee it's 100% accurate, any players not listed etc. Will be interesting to see who eventually shows

WINDSOR
I am sure you meant 17 wins in last 39 games not 7,they didnt start the year 14-0.

Sorry meant 7 wins in last 24 games. That time frame has been since the Dipietro trade. 14 wins out of 29 games with Mikey. We were just under .500 with him and .291 since. At that pace project only 5 more wins remaining 15 games. Sarnia up 5 pts with 16 remaining Erie 4 pts behind with 18 games remaining.

In the newspaper today. TL thought the lines of his "top 6 were getting a bit stale" hence his reason for the line juggle. I think his coaching is stale but unfortunately I can't juggle the coaches. And of course his usual textbook comment "we're playing better than our record shows" I must need a seat right behind TL so I can see the game from his view. Certainly looks different from my seat. I thought Saginaw played only as hard as they needed to too win. Came out hard. They relaxed and after Foudy scored they once again put their foot on the gas. A lot of top teams take us lightly . We seen what London can do to us a couple of weeks ago. Made their statement about a possible 1st round match up against them.

I wonder if Letowski and the team have a bunch of "responses ready after a loss" throw out the cliche of "better than our record shows,"

Boka saying “We had a lot of Grade A chances,” said Boka, whose team held a 32-28 edge in shots. “We do need to get more pucks and bodies to the net, but their goalie (Ivan Prosvetov) played a great game. They’ll start going in soon.”

For once can a player or coach get pissed off? It was cute when these comments were made 15-20 games into the season but we are now into February. At some point you are what you are as a team. There isn't much Letowski can do at this point but there's plenty the players can still do.

See Cody Morgan with his 3 pts last night has 14pts in 15 games with Flint. I was hopeful he'd find Flint a good fit but didnt think it'd be this quick. Good for him hope this is what puts his career on the right track.
He's not just putting up personal numbers either. Keppen is producing more with Cody and the other winger on that line is Jack Wismer who I had completely given up on. Since Cody's arrival Jack Wismer has been going off and looks like a completely different player. Right now the Morgan-Keppen-Wismer line is driving the team and out producing the Dellandrea-Durham line by a bit. You guys owed us one for the Chatham/2nd/3rd? for Kirwan deal.

I believe Morgan is skating on what is their 2nd line, obviously a Flint fan will correct me if I'm wrong.

Two questions about Flint... (honest questions):

1. Is Wellwood a more creative/offensive coach?

2. What line has Morgan been skating on?
Yeah, Morgan has been playing on their second line with Ethan Keppen and Jack Wismer. Over the last 9 or so games though, they've been out producing the top line by quite a bit though. Combined 17 goals to 4. The thing that gets me is I had completely written off Wismer. Soft, ineffective, lack of hustle, next to non existent production. Since Morgan has been put on that line though, Keppen is scoring on a nightly basis and Wismer is producing. Hustling, being in the right spot, winning puck battle, going to the dirty areas. I don't know what happened but it's working. It's like they gained Morgan and a completely new Jack Wismer in that deal. As far as Wellwood goes, Flint was so bad before and during the early part of his tenure I don't even know where to start. What's improved? All of it. Literally everything. There's things that obviously still need work but it's night and day. Work ethic, attitude, breakouts, defensive zone coverage, forecheck, neutral zone transition. Everything. They're a young squad that was mentally destroyed so it's still a work in progress but everybody (players and fans) seem to be happy with him.

That's what I figured all around - Morgan getting more of a chance to show his creativity while Wellwood is that kind of "let's have some fun" coach.

Game notes - 8 more home games left. This team at present is as disfunctional as a team can get. Nothing working on the ice, nothing working off the ice. I find myself watching the bright spots, focusing on Foudy and Cuylle and really ignoring the rest. Not much to cheer for at this point. They played better last weekend on the road so not really sure how to read this group at this point? Erie has been struggling so maybe they can muster a win on the road, who knows?

It's been the name of the season so far - one game great, one game "who are these guys?"

I will say this... I like Garagan in person. He brings some speed and willingness to get into the dirty areas. Do I think he'll be a good OA? Not necessarily. Ideally, you have someone who can score 20+ goals, but he's good for what we need right now.

I also had to laugh today after reading Parker's article on the game.Same old cliche BS.....Spits and Parker must think the fans are a bunch of lunchbucket arse's to keep this up on responses to whats wrong or why another loss.

Btw anyone else remember about 5 yrs ago when the room was again toxic this time when Boogie was behind the bench and we were calling for his head ............lmao.

Now Letoski and another toxic room cluster puck of a year.....usually its the off season for the cluster puck.

Lets hope the Hunter's have an offseason seminar on the topic and Rychel and co. attend.

They even throw out the cliche "bad bounce." For once I want the opposition to talk about how they got a bad bounce.

Earlier when people brought up Letowski you would hear Team Canada, that he turned down AHL jobs maybe even NHL jobs. I would be curious if those same thoughts exist now.

There has been no admission of potentially being a "little over aggressive" in TLs defense earlier in the year to the above ? regarding TL? The defense of coach was steadfast and the poster questioned all who dare asked if he was a good fit were called out lol. And often did so in a deamining, condescending way....

But everyone sees it. Just like calling out people for not responding after Ws. Check the history over 2/3/4 years. After Ls the poster reacts the same way. Must live on a one way street.......

Why can't this go both ways, though? In all fairness, if someone criticizes and it actually turns out to be good, where's the accountability there?

I agree. And most that have been critical dont do it blindly, dont give nicknames unprovoked, arent so one sided never admit anything good. And from the outside arent as hypocritical.

But yes I agree with you.

I was one that pointed out the team Canada connection - Still see this as a positive. Team Canada does not chose just anybody to coach at the WJ level. Yes he was an assistant coach and maybe he would have struggled as a head coach ( see Tim Hunter this year) but still a tough gig to land. I think he is a good coach now, just not a great coach - being a little stubborn is ok but him putting his heels in on a lot of issues has hurt this team but really how much talent does he have to work with? Don't really think even Dale Hunter could save this team.

Imo Team Canada is just like the rest of our society and hockey in general......."Its ALL politics" Its NOT about who's the best anymore, maybe it never was.

And YES Dale Hunter could save this team...........why??? because he would have put his foot down day one.And also players and parents know what your getting when your drafted by the Knights and whats expected. No one is under any illusions. He would have at least with a team with limited talent made sure the work ethic was there.

I know TL is a better coach then this team is showing on ice.You just dont lose your knack for teaching, there is something deeper going on imho.

And yes I call a spade a spade.....when the Knights are scamming or the Spits are full of sheet.I long for the old days of junior hockey with guys like Maxner and Templeton.......they knew how to fill a building.

Dale is far from perfect :).

Sometimes good coaches just arent good fits for certain groups. Up to management to figure that out.
How are kids developing, whats the team s goals, is the coach helping them get thete spirit in the room ect.... Tough call sometimes for sure.

HC is very political thou. Just not a fan of the system and how it has worked in the past ( from what Ive heard and I can only go by that)

My post was in no way directed at you. I get people making the HC connnection in defending s position just not the petty posts, digs, nickname stuff that goes with it just to provoke someone....

This. Right here. 100%. I've said before that TL is a good coach but not the type of coach this team needs. The Spits are a speedy, offensive group and TL is much more defensive/systems oriented. Really, Thompson or Boughner would have been better for these guys.

So, 11F and 5D dressed tonight. I'm guessing this is going to be the norm for a while?

It's almost as if they don't have another Dman signed to either an A or a B card. No forwards signed to a B card either?

Now if they do have anyone signed but still not bringing anyone up you would think they are intentionally keeping their roster short for these games, Seems like a strange move, especially if they are fighting for that last playoff spot at this time.

Just seems like a strange move for a team that wants playoff revenue yet won't do all they can to help their own cause.
