You’re entitled to your opinion, I’ve already stated my case. I think Hynes will have them either in the playoffs or the first team or two out of the playoffs this season right on the cusp. Next year they’ll be solid. I’ll go on record with that as well.
If the season was already going and they looked reasonably average, I'd say give him more time...BUT these 3 games, just think about it:
game 1: 4-0 to 4-5 loss SO (3 goal cascade 3rd period)
game 2 (b2b): Blowout 7-2
game 3: shutout by opponent (horrible quality play)
game 4: (b2b) <how can we not expect anything bad here?>
Tonight's game wasn't just a loss, they played absolutely horrendous non-NHL quality hockey. It's as if they were icing the AHL injury squad from last season. They had 2-3 days rest. They literally, for most of 3rd period, couldn't even get past the offensive blueline to do anything. It's not that they were being trapped. They just were horrible, posession-wise, horrible making plays. In last 5 mins of 3rd period they came to life for about 2-3 shifts.
Yeah you can point at players somewhat, but this is really bad across all the games. They looked good for 2 periods in game 1, that is it. that is where this team was at.
