Serious question - is Palmieri okay? Did I miss a headshot or something?

He was bobbling the puck all night, falling down all over the place... that hilarious turnover in front of the net was just the cherry on top.

Was he drunk?

0 - 5 on the power play and gave up 2 on the PK. Lots of things need to be fixed - no chemistry, little flow or confidence, not generating much and we were lucky it wasn’t worse then 4 zip because Philly missed a number of open looks in the 2d period - but special teams need to be fixed most of all.

We are not skating, not playing our game. At some point we need to get back to playing hockey freely.

It’s Hynes’ job to make that happen.

Roster turnover doesn't mean **** when a line that has been together for several seasons still looks like garbage. It doesn't just look like these guys are lacking chemistry. It looks like they don't know how to play the game. They are trying really hard, the effort is there, but because they are so lost on ice, it's all wasted. But Hynes will just say they need to show more effort...

Five ****ing years of getting dummied on the ice on a nightly basis. Enough is enough.

This is the first year they have a semblance of talent. And they made the playoffs in 2018 with a shit lineup, but I guess that’s getting “dummied.” Nice Chiclets reference though, makes the argument more compelling.

Dumpster fire game from Gusev, Hall, Hischier, Wood, Vatanen, Greene, Subban, Hayden, Carrick, and Rooney. Bratt, Coleman, Palmieri, Hughes actually controlled the game when they were on the ice. Simmonds, Zajac, Severson, Butcher were about even.

Should be noted that Wood Rooney Hayden had zero offensive zone starts, 4 neutral zone starts, and 12 defensive zone starts.

Starting to see why the Devils were the only team willing to take on Subban's full cap hit. He looks far from a #1, $9 mil per DMan.

"These are all things we can correct, little detaills.."

Hall and Hynes said (paraphrasing) after game 1 loss....

Zone starts don't have that big of an impact on shooting stats, as most shifts don't start with a faceoff. There is some impact, nut it's marginal.

While they looked pretty scattered - I thought there was/is some promise.

Hall/Nico/Gusev were super sloppy with the puck and couldn't get anything going. I couldn't believe Hall had two blind backhand passes from the point up past the blueline as giveaways in the same shift. Ugly.
Trav was ok, Palmieri had a tough night - in alot of ways - and Bratt was pretty invisible for him.
Hughes was good. Dynamic and fearless. Simmonds looked slow but had some good moments around the net. Coleman was Coleman.
The fourth line did their job. Hayden bashed guys. They actually produced some energy and opportunity and looked like the only line that could actually play with the Flyers at the end.
Vatanan was nutty all game.
Subban and the icings, and some weird decisions... pretty bad.
Greene saved our bacon alot.
Nice that Sevs was on for two goals, and had the crappy gap control to help cause the PP on one, and did nothing on the other. He caused a couple of odd-men rushes with bad pinches and giveaways too.
Butcher Carrick was actually a somewhat decent pair for most of the game.

Cory gave us slightly better than average goaltending. Not the problem tonight. Wished he had better rebound control.

Special teams seem to be the issue so far too...
