Seeing what's going on in Minnesota, I wonder if Ryan Suter would be amenable to a move. His contract is huge, but can easily be traded for pennies on the dollar after 2022. Also he's in the same boat as Weber in that Minnesota would be on the hook for recapture if he retires early. Not sure what it would take but I'd guess Brook, Juulsen, Fleury or Romanov would have to go the other way.Habs need talent, period.
That’s an interesting idea, however I’d rather keep Romanov or Brook but the others I’m open to moving on from.Seeing what's going on in Minnesota, I wonder if Ryan Suter would be amenable to a move. They’re not cornered. They can trade Ehlers and Perrault and be perfectly fine. They'd rather lose them than Laine or Connor for nothing.Laine, the Jets are cornered,
Or
Conner
We needed to get better linemates for Kotkaniemi but instead we got worse linemates for him.Habs need talent, period.
Bergevin wouldn't give up a 5th round pick for a top 6 player from Russia.Should have used that 2nd and 3rd from the Shaw trade to get Gusev.
Why gamble on talent when you can offer 500 1 year 1 million dollar contracts to other teams shitty players and hope they work out?Bergevin wouldn't give up a 5th round pick for a top 6 player from Russia.
To sign Laine for what he wants, may not be that easyThey’re not cornered. They can trade Ehlers and Perrault and be perfectly fine. They'd rather lose them than Laine or Connor for nothing.
His goal is to spend money on "diamonds in the rough" but more often than not, they end up being nothing more than Pyrite. Fools gold uncovered by the fool and his departed money. Why gamble on talent when you can offer 500 1 year 1 million dollar contracts to other teams ****ty players and hope they work out?
Ehlers would be perfect for Habs, no? He is about what, 5' tall? They’re not cornered. They can trade Ehlers and Perrault and be perfectly fine. They'd rather lose them than Laine or Connor for nothing.
I hear Laine has wrong CHaracter... he kinda does seem like a more talented Pacioretty... which I guess is not terrible, however, I imagine he would want 11-12M and we already have Carey Price making that.To sign Laine for what he wants, may not be that easy
You can't have too many 5th round picks (to paraphrase someone)Bergevin wouldn't give up a 5th round pick for a top 6 player from Russia.

If he trades a prospect you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be Romanov. Just wait and see.You can't have too many 5th round picks (to paraphrase someone)

Preferably at first pairing LD for starters.
Pretty sure ehlers is 6 foot at leastEhlers would be perfect for Habs, no? He is about what, 5' tall?
Think MB is content with what he has plus a few intangibles possibly.
Hmm... who am I thinking that's really tiny on the Peg team then? Kinda travel size... like Davey D.Pretty sure ehlers is 6 foot at least
