I prefer Leddy so let’s hope Bergevin is on it.

And yes the Flyers are top heavy. No one scored 50 points other than Giroux, Couturier and Voracek. If they want to make noise they should go for some good 2nd/3rd liners.
Konecny 47 then 49 last year. Just turned 22. JVR is a 50 + player all but last year 48 but injured. Hayes just got 54 while missing games too. I see a full top 6 of 50+ players. And both Patrick and Lindblom young kids moving from thierties to fourties.

The big reason for me why I would take Leddy way before Ghost is that Leddy can play 1st pair minutes and play vs other team best player especially with Shea Weber. Ghost can’t do that. He’s a PP specialist that you want on your 2/3 pair. And for his production in PP don’t forget he was playing in PP with Voracek/Giroux/Simmonds who where PP beast.

Easier said than done, but I'd like to see the Habs trade players who can be replaced in free agency.

Trade Drouin, replace with Duchene (+4M)
Trade Shaw, replace with Ferland (+1M)

Use assets to acquire Leddy, Ghost or Fowler (+4 to 5M).

That's how I'd like to see them spend the $10M.

I'd also like to see Byron traded for a 2nd, then using the Cap space to take on a bad contract and another asset (pick or prospect).

- Byron is worth more than a 2nd.
- I would love to get Leddy and I think we can
- What happens if Duchene and Ferland fail to be better than Drouin and Shaw? That would be a wasted $5M. I think the possibility is there. But then I guess we still get he assets in the trade returns we get for Drouin and Shaw?

It’s not very good. The Habs had 5 forwards with over 50 points and it still wasn’t good enough. That’s with Price playing out of his mind as well.

Most right there at 52-53. No 80+. Top with 72. 6 50+ pts players is fine.

Leddy will cost a goal scorer. Who can you spare?

Assuming Hayes gets 50 points. He’s only done that once in his 5 year career - in a contract year with the majority of his points came playing for the Rangers at a ludicrous 19:27 ATOI.

Duchene will be better than Drouin. 4M better? Maybe not, but Drouin is the major piece in acquiring the much needed LD.

Shaw vs Ferland - just swapping assets. Paying 1M more and coming out with another pick and prospect.

Domi - Duchene - Gallagher
Tatar - Kotka - Suzuki
Ferland - Danault - Armia
Lehkonen - Thompson - Weal

Leddy - Weber
Kulak - Petry
Mete - Juulsen

So you are pinning down Drouin as a 50-55 pts forward as he heads to his prime years? I think he gets a few seasons in the 60-80 range from his 24-30 years.

I think we should keep Shaw cause he worked well with Domi. I rather not mess with this

Douin is pinning himself there with his lack of effort and lack of hockey IQ tbh.

Didn't say he was a perfect forward but I do think he gets a few seasons in the 60-80 range from his 24-30 years.

I think he takes a step forward next year, not a step back. How much pride does he have? We will see cause he knows fully well, he needs to increase his intensity

It's clear, I have faith in the kid.

I didn't make a prediction of Drouin's point totals, so I'm not pinning anything down. You're the one doing the predicting - and using a broad range of which he has yet to hit the low end of.

I could see MTL trade for Leddy with Shaw+ and get Ferland after to take shaw's place
Would be a cocky move by MB... Personally I think MB would lose credibility towards his players. Shaw looks to be a glue type of guy in this team, to get rid of him for another exact type of player would be somekind of a mood breaker IMO.

Yes I did make the point total prediction range. Why? Cause I see Drouin producing similar numbers (+/-) season to season in the next 5-7 years compared to Duchene.

Shaw is a dick and nobody likes him.

Niku and Jake Bean would be alternatives if we dont sign Edler.

We should draft a forward but I really like Harley

15OA + Shaw for Ehlers. It may seem far off but WPG loves Shaw. There were rumours they offered a 1st for him at the 2018 trade deadline and he's significantly improved his value since then.

In most interviews players say he's the funniest on the team and they look like they are having fun.

He's the guy you work with that makes off-colour jokes and still says "that's so f***ing gay" or "that's Pejorative Slured" and people laugh mostly out of awkwardness.

My choices would be:
Ehlers
Edler
Nyquist
Leddy

I’d rather get Nyquist and let him play the point on the PP and leave our D alone rather then acquiring the Ghost. If we have Mete and the Ghost I can’t see the Ghost getting more ice time then Mete or even Kulak.

Everyone I know says those things lol. I don't think he's rubbing any hockey players the wrong way. They all love him
