Guessing he has an offer for 7/56 minimum.
If he can score the hockey version of Smaug's hoard, power to him

NoQuestion: if a team trades a pick to obtain negotiating rights for a player, and the player does not sign, does the team get its pick back?
If you want a team with kids who developing into legit NHL defensemen quickly then you want Chara on the teamGreat point. I hope people that want Chara back remember this as well. As much as certain players are loved and respected (Krug and Chara are on different levels here, of course) there is a time to move on and it's often more than a straight value for money equation.
That’s interesting. So a team can gain a draft pick even if the player does not sign. He then goes to free agency, doesn’t like either the offers or the city and decides to accept his original team’s last offer. The team gets to keep its guy AND scores a draft pick!
Yup - DeBrusk to 3 with Coyle
I love the way Tampa was able to take a Donny Marcotte good 3 zone player with some O skills like Palat and stick him with two studs in Point & Kucherov.
what a line - legit hockey porn
Cassidy putting all his eggs in one basket just nuts
You have FIXED duos
Marchand-Bergeron
Krejci - Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Coyle
I love it because your third line has second line components
then your flexibility comes in
assume your 4th + is
Frederic-Kuraly-Wagner
Kuhlman
Ritchie
You have Studnicka, Kase or Senyshyn who could go with Coyle
Who can play LW with Krejci
Who can play RW with Bergy
I like the Saad for Bjork deal ~ Saad with Krejci & Pastrnak would be outstanding
if it’s for Chiasson I’ll lose it

Well at this point we are probably looking at one kid, maybe two, but I doubt Sweeney and Cassidy would put both Lauzon and Zboril for example in there at the same time. I don't feel like that is enough reason to keep Chara. Why not hire the guy as a coach/consultant and he can practice with them and teach.
My guess is the league would step in on something like this, especially if it was contrivedThat’s interesting. So a team can gain a draft pick even if the player does not sign. I know this is highly unlikely, but possible.
Yeah at this point in Chara career he is going to be a progress stopper. Have to bring in the young guns and see what we have. Love Chara but his time is over I think.Great point. I'd be shocked if that was the Bruins offer and he left for a mil more per season. Either the offer isn't real, or Krug is looking for 8 plus. No chance he uproots for 7 mil more total.
Ask McAvoy what Z means to a kids progress on this clubYeah at this point in Chara career he is going to be a progress stopper. Have to bring in the young guns and see what we have. Love Chara but his time is over I think.
He’s already a coach/consultant - if he wants to hang em up I doubt he’d have difficulty hitching on anywhere in that roleWell at this point we are probably looking at one kid, maybe two, but I doubt Sweeney and Cassidy would put both Lauzon and Zboril for example in there at the same time. Dillon yesI kind of like the Saad for Bjork idea. As free agents, how about signing Toffoli and Dillon. Lines could be
Marchand---Bergeron---Toffoli
Saad---Krejci---Pastrnak
Debrusk---Coyle---Studnicka
Dillon---McAvoy
Griz---Carlo
Chara---Lauzon
We keep Chara till he’s 64 and we can say ‘Old Z is older than the 3 Bruins defensive prospects combined’So what, we just keep him on year after year till there are no more prospects to be mentored?
We keep Chara till he’s 64 and we can say ‘Old Z is older than the 3 Bruins defensive prospects combined’
Or
prospect A’s father was born 2 months after Old Z first game with the Islanders
Or
old Z played when the US had 50 states and no King

Which is never, so.......................
You've basically just summed up this board's feelings on Krug. Our board is split between thinking he's too similar to Yandle as an purely offensive dman... but others have said he has a solid defensive game/ plays physically too unlike Yandle.
Bad place to ask. Folks here say he’s the worst defensive dman in the nhl and his offensive numbers don’t really count.Panthers fan coming in peace. There's a couple rumors floating that we're going to be in on Krug. Can anyone give me the lowdown on his game?
