Here maybe this will help him out:

# GOALIE GPI GS MIN GAA W L OT SO SA GA SV% G A PIM
45 J BERNIER 8 6 452 2.12 5 3 0 1 249 16 .936 0 0 0
34 JAMES REIMER 4 4 151 3.18 2 0 0 0 96 8 .917 0 0 0

To be fair to Reimer, his stats are skewed because he's played only 151 minutes (just a shade above 2.5 games).

Bad period against Ottawa + the injury 32 seconds into a game aside, he's been as good as Bernier to start the season.

.973 and .919 in the two complete games he played.

----
I think there is a good chance that Morgan Rielly gets his first. Columbus defense strategy often leaves the point man wide open to walk into the slot because they swarm the puck carrier...they almost leave an entire side of the ice open for the D to walk right in and shoot.

Hope the Leafs watch out for that and give Franson, Phaneuf, Rielly some good looks on the net.

Yeah take out the bad period against Ottawa and he's been pretty lights out. It's a weird time for him to start *****ing a bit because he's bound to get tomorrow's game against Pittsburgh. Now if he doesn't start tomorrow then we might have a problem. This is obviously going to become more of an issue the longer we go into the season, no doubt in my mind that this doesn't go longer than this season. In the summer I'm guessing Reimer will be traded.

That's really as good as it gets. Bernier has been more impressive and the only reason Reimer hasn't played is because of some bad luck.

I think he's in net tomorrow against the Penguins.

Man listening to TSN 1050..just replayed a quote from Reimer..boy does he sound annoyed he hasn't been playing often. Here we go..He said something like "I'm not in Randy's head, I don't know why I'm not playing" So he basically is saying that the flu hasn't been the reason why he hasn't been playing. Reimer should just keep his mouth shut for now.

I thought Randy spoke to his players and kept a good communication

about last summer.
They're both edge **** disturbers:laugh: can't wait to see it.

Can't wait to see a full healthy lineup as well.

This configuration of the CBJ isn't one to take crap either. Scrums tonight would not surprise me at all.

Concerning size, our forwards are all over the place. But in general, I think our defensemen have size. Looking at the stats here:
http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/roster.htm?srt=wt&type=roster
and here:
http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/roster.htm?srt=wt&type=roster

Looks like the CBJ are more dense - Leafs may be taller, but for a given height, CBJ weigh more.

It's not really a problem. I think he starts against Pens.

Maybe, in lieu of having another good tender in Bernier, is be extra cautious with Reimer since he's had a concussion before

And as Mike says, he'll get a couple of starts in the next week .. The Leafs have two back to backs upcoming .. Tonight/tomorrow and next Tuesday/Wednesday in Edmonton and Calgary

I would have given Reimer tonight though against a team with less offensive power than Pittsburgh to get back into it

Reimer has pretty good numbers against the Pens doesn't he?

He does but that doesn't means he should get an automatic start. We all know how Reimer amazing record against sens went out.

If Bernier has an amazing game tonight than he should get the start versus Pittsburgh.

Does Leivo really only weight 173? Also Broll at 216 seems low...just nitpicking/curious.

Alternatively, ESPN's top performers column says it all. Our goalies have been lights out all season and they're the biggest reason why the team is off to a 7-3 start instead of 3-7.

No question.

Our Leafs have been outplayed, outshot, and puck possession time favours the opponents.

The saving grace is strong goaltending or our record could be reversed and not 7-3 but rather 3-7 at this point.

Safe to say tonights lines are

JVR - Bozak -Kessel
Raymond - Bolland - Clarkson
McClement - Kadri -Leivo
Bodie - Smith - Orr

But somehow Orr makes his way up to the 3rd line by the end of the night

The Leafs are 5th in Goals Per game, and 5th in Save percentage.

I'd say the offense and the goaltending are equally responsible for the Team's 7-3 start (just like they were equally responsible for our good record last year).

There are a number of teams that have received just as hot goaltending as the leafs, but aren't off to as good a start. And the Leafs aren't getting anywhere near as hot goaltending as the hottest starting teams in the legaue this year - COL and SJS and BOS.

Top Team Save Percentages and team record:

1. COL .961, 8-1-0 (1.78ppg)
2. BOS .948, 7-2-0 (1.56ppg)
3. MTL .938, 6-4-0 (1.20ppg)
4. OTT .931, 4-3-2 (1.11ppg)
5. TOR .930, 7-3-0 (1.40ppg)
6. SJS .927, 8-1-1 (1.70ppg)
7. NAS .924, 6-4-1 (1.18ppg)
8. CLM .922, 4-5-0 (0.89ppg)
9. DET .917, 6-4-1 (1.18ppg)
10. PIT .913, 7-2-0 (1.56ppg)

Lots of teams getting good goaltending so far like the Leafs are, but not all of them have as good records as the Leafs, because they aren't scoring like the Leafs are scoring.
