O'Neill is insane....Franson is apparently our #1 D-man, and Reilly has 'definitively' leaped Gardiner on the depth chart.

O'Neil's fantasy hockey team probably has Franson's 8 points and 30 hits racking up the points for him. Fantasy hockey rating's high so he's a number 1 in this league and on our team, makes perfect sense.

hes on the panel with Ward and the like, as well as on a radio show, can think of which one at the moment.

I wouldn't call him a leaf hater, though..

Ya, maybe leaf hater is too strong.

He likes to stir the pot, how about that

Don't think he's overrated. People see the contract and expect him to put up huge numbers but that is not why he earned the big money. He earned the big money because he was the top rated UFA last season - and a team always has to 'overpay' to get good UFA's. Nobody should expect anything more than 15-20G and definitely not more than 40 points (on 82 games). He brings a combo of grit and toughness while still having enough skill to play real minutes. The Leas needed that up front.

I'm sure Clarkson will be a very welcome addition to our team. He was successful in NJ. So he made an error in judgement. He has done his time and I'm sure learned from it. He was brought here to play the only way he knows, and that's in your face hockey.

He certainly seems to not like Phaneuf. In the Anaheim game he wouldn't even consider the thought that Team Canada brass were there to scout Phaneuf. In O'Neill's mind there is NO WAY that Phaneuf should be even close to Team Canada.

He comes off as very bitter and jealous. And most of what he says is WAY off base.

He's gonna play like a bat out of hell tonight. Whether thats a good thing or not remains to be seen. Hopefully he plays hard and on the line, but not over the line.

ONeill was a BUM here, he was a notorious lazy player that didn't back check. I bet he had little respect amongst his peers and he sounds three quarters Pejorative Slured when he speaks.

I actually think this game will be harder then tomorrows. Even on a back to back, the Leafs always play well against the Pens (in a winning sense).

I dont know what to expect from Columbus, They have decent depth now after the trade with NYR, and a vezina winning goalie. I fully expect Kessel to be on his A-game tonight and Clarkson

Man listening to TSN 1050..just replayed a quote from Reimer..boy does he sound annoyed he hasn't been playing often. Here we go..He said something like "I'm not in Randy's head, I don't know why I'm not playing" So he basically is saying that the flu hasn't been the reason why he hasn't been playing. Reimer should just keep his mouth shut for now.

When it does end, I'm looking forward to the Lupul -- Kardi -- Clarkson trio to debut.

That line should be incredible. Kadri having someone on his line that will protect him should make him play chippier, lots of people hate on Carlyle playing him with Orr last year, but it was one of his better stretches of the year because he could be physical and fiesty while feeling pretty safe out there.

Lol, there's guaranteed to be an after the whistle scrum with Clarky and Nazem out there together. Can't wait.

context....

I think the quote is more someone asking when he's going play next. Hence the 'I'm not in Randy's head' comment. Reimer doesn't seem like the type that will call out the coach because he's not playing.

Haha for sure. These are the guys we need in the lineup, along with Kulemin and Fraser. They should be able to help get the energy in the game with their physical play, and hey maybe we'll even get a fight or two. Orr has been quiet in that regard, though has been a real good fourth liner for us lately. I get the feeling that McLaren will get Orr riled up too, guys kind of a mouthpiece out there.

My best guess at the lines and pairings.

Since we're past the 1/10th point of the year, I've decided to drop the 3rd year and just go with 2yr stats (including this year) now. I'll be going with just this year soon enough.

Unless Bernier is absolutely lights out tonight along with the win, Reimer will start tomorrow IMO.

Reimer has never lost in regulation to the Penguins and Fleury is always good for 3-4 goals against when he plays the Leafs.

I am never afraid of playing the Pens because they are one team that will always give us chances to get back in the game if we go down early.

Kind of interesting how we stack up with the Jackets, personnel wise. I feel we have a very similar set up of players. Think we will match up well but we will have to make life a little tougher for their goalie, in order to pull this one out!

If we were fully healthy, it wouldn't be a very even matchup. After Gaborik(depending which one shows up), theyre not overly deep. On the small side too. Good bit of talent though.
