A lot of the Marvel movies would be bad superhero movies if it wasn't for the MCU being attached to them. The MCU was held up by certain movies in the beginning and throughout, and then the Avengers movies. If some of the standalone movies had no impact on Avengers, then they would not have been as successful.

The same can be said for a lot of Star Wars content. I liked Rogue One, but I'll even admit it's just Star Wars porn.

So, apparently there is this weird German Burger King ad that is putting out the leaks. Either they are trolling the "leaks" or this is the weirdest marketing campaign.

Edit: It's not official Disney, so I guess German BK used the leaks online as a marketing campaign for themselves and in doing so have potentially spoiled the movie for people not expecting it.

IMO most of the standalone movies in the MCU were better than the ones with the main characters. Movies like Ant-Man 1, Dr Strange, Black Panther, both Spider-Mans and Guardians 1 all rank higher for me than any Cptn America, either Iron Man sequel, or the first two Thors. I’d also rank them higher than at least 2 of the 4 Avengers movies.

Which doesn’t really distinguish it from the two PT movies vs the two standalones.

Although many people have downloaded the BK app which is involved in the whole ordeal. And on the app they have licensed names listed as well as the actual words “Star Wars.” This means that either BK and Disney are in cahoots or BK is about to get sued out the wahzoo

Updated leaks by jedipaxis on r/StarWarsLeaks. I won't discuss or hint at any of them, but if you are interested, they are there.

Thanks for the tip. I just read them and... yep, that's a JJ Abrams script. It felt to me like it recycles several things from TFA and throws in a few of the less liked aspects of TLJ for good measure. I imagine that it'll be not quite as divisive as TLJ, but more so than TFA.

As for the Burger King ad, every time that I try to rationalize Disney being behind it, I end up concluding that they would never risk the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in box office revenue from people who lost interest in the movie after having it spoiled for them.

If Burger King indeed did go behind lucasfilm back and are putting these real spoilers up than they will face the wrath of Disney, which right now is suicide. I highly doubt any BK marketing agent looked over this and said “yup looks good.” It would truly be something if it was all orchestrated by Disney

I'd think you're half right here. They wouldn't be 'bad' movies, as in some DC films like the Green Lantern, but certainly yes the MCU label grants them an extra degree of financial success. Otherwise a number of them would be more on par with the non-bad X-Men movies.

Yeah, that's moreso what I was thinking.

Blue checkmark TLJ defenders are losing their minds on twitter. Mendelson even admitted to shilling for Pacific Rim for Boyega, which he now regrets doing? Very odd optics when you look at it, a bunch of white people upset at the black actor in Star Wars.

Who cares? Why am I supposed to care about this? I don't really care about "blue checkmark TLJ defenders"... whatever that is.

More plot leaks #confirmed! Wow. Just wow. If even half of these are true, I will predetermine that I absolutely love this movie before seeing how the movie is made, because it doesn't make sense to save my judgment. #SterWers

I think it's newsworthy and I didn't post it for you or you to care, if i did, i would've made a discussion just with you or tagged you in it.

I mean, it's pretty clear who you directed it at since it was comment to what I posted.

In all honesty, it really wasn't. I guess the timing did make it seem that way, but I've seen the same comment like a million times lately haha. It was more of a collective sarcasm post than just directed at one person.

I still am shocked they actually got the Mark, Harrison and Carrie back but didn't have them in a scene together.

They had so much time yet no plan

How does that reflect no plan? Both Han dying and Luke not being found until the very end were the plan for the first movie. While they could have written the plot differently so they did end up in a scene together, that's not the same thing as having no plan.
