Calisti is not that good. Power play specialist with a good one timer is really all he offers. Sure he's a great skater but he's not a strong puck handler and isn't a play maker. He's a defensive liability and is a defensemen. Those two things shouldn't go hand in hand. Constantinou reminded me more of an anthony deangelo type. I feel he's losing confidence because it would seem that when he makes a mistake he's getting crucified but when others make mistakes they get put right back out there.

They are similar now but they weren't at the time of the trade. Constantinou was coming off of a disastrous run with the Frontenacs and they sold extremely low on him.

I think that the Liam Ham trade is a better recent example to use.

I thought 3,4,4 was a great return for Constantinou

O'Rourke continues to be our rock back there. For me, I like what Constantinou has been bringing in the top 4. LeGuerrier has had his share of trouble adapting to the new system but I am hopeful that most of the growing pains are behind him. Holmes has been looking more and more comfortable in the second half of the season. To me, those are our top 4 going into next year unless we add in the off season.

I agree O'Rourke has been our most consistent player on defense, but he needs help. We score a lot of goals, we were number one in GF for most of the season, but yet had less than a .500 record. We need to stop pucks in our net and I don't believe this is a goalie issue. Shake it up means find a solution towards playing better defense. Trades this summer make perfect sense, but just try something new right now. We need wins!

There was reason to be concerned after his run in Kingston and that was a valid opinion.

We know now, however, that the team got an elite point per game defenseman that could be considered one of the top 10 players at his position next season. He's worth in excess of double that price, no question.

Calisti "guarantees" we make the playoffs.

Long road for a team with defense like ours. Talk is cheap Robert, show us on the ice.

We will need Erie and/or Owen Sound to lose games. We can win all our remaining games and still not grab the 8th spot if Erie and Owen Sound win a good share of their games.

Theres no point in changes now but I would not enter next season with the same defense.

Calisti and Constantinou are similar players. I'd keep one of the two and look for an upgrade to play with O'Rourke. IMO we will have offensive depth next year but I haven't seen much progression from our veteran D beyond #21.
I agree we will have enough offense from the back end with Constantineau,O'Rourke and Holmes. His offense should be enough to return some good draft picks we can use closer to the trade deadline.

Calisti is capable of being a big part of any charge to the playoffs, but not if the status quo is maintained.
I suppose that declaration goes for all of the players, but for all the offense he generates, he finds himself on the wrong side of the score sheet.

+/- is a poor stat but not something you can ignore either when calisti and o'rourke are 40+ points apart.

Speaking of defense, tonight might be a good time to see if we can tighten things up just a bit, er, actually a whole lot. In four games this season, Windsor has pumped in 32 goals against us. We managed just 13 in return. Embarassing!

If we are going to make the playoffs - which I doubt will happen - we have to win two out of the three games this weekend (with one of those wins coming against Sarnia).

Extremely impressive defensive effort tonight no matter what happens in OT. Big credit to Brkin as well, he was outstanding. We've seen countless good efforts like this result in 4+ goals, but he wouldn't be denied the win tonight.

Great 5 man defense with the forwards backchecking hard and really supporting our defense. Numerous fast breaks the other way were a side effect of commitment to defense.

so nice to see us manage the game and hold the opposition to under 4 goals. might be too little too late. can't follow it up with a stinker.

I wish Calisti had this kind of defensive awareness in every game. There's no reason he can't be as good as Josh Godfrey with some improvements in that area.

Constantinou continues to get better in his own end as well. He's got that active stick that our team loves and broke up plays before they got started. Size hurts him on defense, but smarts and speed are a big plus.

Pretty decent period up until the pk.

While our PP took strides this year our pk didn't and will hopefully be a focus in the off season.

Tough to give up a softie like that to start the period. I think we have to ride Brkin hard down the stretch if we want to have any chance. We're 16-7 with him and that is no coincidence.

It wasn't a great goal but also not the reason we lost. Malik has 35 saves and counting. But why would you stop blaming goalies now? ;)

36-18 on faceoffs in favour of London
38-26 shots in favour of London
0/5 on the PP.

London dominates most teams in the circle. Specialty teams are normally strong it’s the rest of the game that gets a little dodgy at times.

Guys this was not to be the Soo’s year BUT a force to be reckoned with for the next 2-3 years with all that youth and emerging talent!

We have an incredible amount of returnees and it's been pretty universally agreed upon as being a sign we will be very deep. I still think we lack in 3 areas.

1) Defense. I don't think we need to analyze this any further. Everyone but Fisch sees we aren't good defensively.

2) Lack of star power. Perhaps not picking in the 2nd round for a while and trading away a few first round prospects has finally caught up to us but I don't see any game changers who can take over a game.

3) Draft picks. Any substantial moves comparable to those we made in 2018 or 2015 would literally empty our cupboards for years to come. Some will suggest we can recoup picks at a later date but if it's so easy why didn't we do it last year?

It's going to be an interesting off-season.
