Our 4th liner just had a hat trick.
This idea Leafs are lacking "Depth" is a myth.

I never said, we lack depth. But your 3rd line has to win some games when the checking is tight. They are almost invisible. Our 4th line is picking up the slack, no doubt. Sooner or later a dry spell hits and that is when your 3rd line needs to step up.

Just remembered.

Whatever happened to that one poster who viciously defended Babcock and every decision he made? He went by the handle "Maple Leafs" I believe. Did he leave when Babcock got fired?

10-2 -1

I don't agree with every decision he makes, for example I don't know why he plays Barabanov, the guy provides NOTHING but the record is what it is the Leafs are ROLLING

Matthews

Under Babs (235gms): 18:15toi, 44gl / 81pt pace
Under Keefe (59gms): 21:37toi, 61gl / 95pt pace

Marner

Under Babs (259gms): 17:50toi, 23gl / 77pt pace
Under Keefe (54gms): 22:34toi, 27gl / 106pt pace

Imagine being a coach and having this perfect dream combo fall in your lap and deciding to not ever bother using it.

In Babs defense it's not like Tavares and Marner didn't work

Yes technically we do have a 3rd line but it's not really, Vesey has 2 goals, Kerfoot has 2 goals, Mikyehev has 0 goals the 3rd is struggling HARD

While they have struggled offensively they have been fine defensively. I wouldn’t say struggled hard, they aren’t a liability out there, but dubas and Keefe definitely need something to get them going.

That's fantastic that they are solid defensively but at some point you have to put a few pucks in the net

Considering we have been burned in the past by defensively inept depth, I'll gladly take a line that is pretty solid defensively.

Yes, they need to improve offensively but this is a better problem than a line that is bleeding goals against.

They're not "struggling hard". They're still playing well, even if they haven't converted as much yet. Also, they literally just scored last night.

He’s a good coach for this team. Adapts and admits when he makes mistakes. Having no ego will win the race here.

I said it at the time Babcock was fired, all Keefe had to do was the obvious and he could have great success. I heard people say he was ina "Tough" situation. I disagree completely. He had so much talent that the previous coach chose to severely underutilize.

Who did you say it too, since you’ve only been a member for a week.

Kerfoot has 2 goals in 13 games and Mikyehev has 3 assists, Jimmy Vesey has 3 points

By comparsion Travis Boyd has played 5 games and is out scoring both Vesey and Mikyehev and is only 1 point behind Kerfoot.

When Travis Boyd is out scoring you that's a sign you aren't doing enough offensively, especially when Travis Boyd is doing it in less than half the games
