What law is being enforced by firing at innocent bystanders?Law enforcement.
So many "reputable" places do shit you wouldn't believe. It's really disheartening when you consider what you don't see behind the scenes.Had a trial shift at La Dolce Vita in little Italy, and left after two hours in total disgust. The meatballs are frozen and microwaved (everything is microwaved). The freezer smelt like death. Every surface was disgusting and looked like it had never been cleaned.
The ‘chef’ splashed raw pork juices into the salad toppings and used a filthy cutting board for every task. Their food might be gluten free but it’s definitely not ecoli free. The salad he chopped on that nasty cutting board, didn’t clean the lettuce.
It was surreal man. Absolute shithole.
This was a Monday afternoon before they opened too, no reason for the kitchen to be in such disarray. $20 italian meals that are just microwaved slop. When I left I reported them to health Canada.
When I got home i scrubbed my skin almost raw. I was so goddamn rattled I wanted to cry. I’ve worked in good kitchens and have never seen shit like that.
There is such a thing as over zealous law enforcement performed by people lacking in emotional intelligence. What law is being enforced by firing at innocent bystanders?
There was an article, i think it was on Vox, documenting law enforcement targetting clearly identified journalists with non lethal measures like rubber bullets and tear gas. What law is being enforced by firing at innocent bystanders?
Congrats! It’s boring or it’s stressful. No in between.
Just kidding. Enjoy the Florida. No more winters!
What a world we live in..
Sure, but it seems to have gotten more extreme (or perhaps just more likely to be caught on film i guess).Police have always targetted anyone attempting to document their actions. Used to be they'd just break/confiscate/de-film your camera and probably take you in to boot. These days with everyone having a camera phone it makes it a lot harder for them to so, not that they don't try

Probably doesn't help when a certain prominent figure labels them enemy of the people every time he doesn't like coverage
I know this is out of left field, but i never understood the back to the future movies. Don't get wrong, i love back to the future, but they don't make any sense,
Especially the 2nd and 3rd ones. Why does Marty and doc have to go to the future to fix his kids?
Considering doc says this in the 3rd one" "Your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. Your future is what ever you make it. So make it a good one!"
So why again did they have to go to the future if the future hasn't been written yet?
You could make the argument that by initiating the event shift too far before it happens you can't be certain things will change. You would need to do so just before it happens to make sure it's done properly.
Although the ending of the series mixes its messages. Doc Brown wishes he had never invented the time machine, so we're supposed to believe he regrets messing around in time. Then he immediately builds a train time machine. This should really be considered a downer ending as he refuses to learn from his mistakes.
But this assumes the future is already written. In the 3rd movie, doc says the future hasn't been written yet.
If anything, it is not consistent storytelling.

I don't know if has been posted already - TVO put out a great documentary a week ago called The Arrest where they interview people wrongfully arrested and experts and go into detail about how lives can be forever altered by the legal system.
Up until a couple of years ago an arrest would show up on a background check. So the police arrest and release you. You have a record even if you were innocent and charges were dropped.
Is this the definition of irony?
