Assuming that’s the Wood that used to play for North Bay, I liked his upside back then. Big RH shot D.
Yep, it is. He wound up as their playoff scratch. His rookie AHL season was excellent, not sure what happened but he fell off hard in year 2.

Curious how he feels about NYR with Quinn being hired there. Not sure how the depth chart looks for New York, but that's another option for him as well. He probably knew he wasn't going to re-sign in AZ, so he might've looked at destinations. Buffalo may have been one of those options, along with a few others. I hope he signs here as Depth on the blueline in this organization is important.
Main board is speculating that it's because of the coaching change in Arizona...the Tocchet system requires a lot more speed and Wood hardly got any PP time last season which is where he excelled the year before. I look forward to seeing what he can do in San Jose, wish it was us that sniped him. He's apparently still growing and is now around 6'7"Yep, it is. He wound up as their playoff scratch. Yep, and I'm on the same side of this move as well. It's just going to be fun watching people defend the move because back then people took issue with Murray making this type of move. People love to crap on Tim, and we have a GM that pretty much does the same move. But because Botts did this move, it's going to painted in a positive light, whereas Murray would get criticized.

McNabb would be a borderline AHLMeanwhile, Brayden McNabb just unlaced his skates from playing June hockey.
The same people pushing now in this topic would be calling out his name and how we could draft such a bad player.Would McNabb look any different than McCabe on this team?
As I said previously, odd a fan of the team is looking forward to us not signing players. For the "comedy" aspect of it doesn't seem like much of a rationale
Oh shit! Everyone had forgot!Let’s not forget the 2 2nd rounders in addition to McNabb
M...u...r...r...y .....Let’s not forget the 2 2nd rounders in addition to McNabb
If Fasching got something I would have to think Bailey could as well.
Miles Wood, not Kyle WoodAssuming that’s the Wood that used to play for North Bay, I liked his upside back then. Big RH shot D.
Yeah, it was terrible asset management. No one can deny that.Let’s not forget the 2 2nd rounders in addition to McNabb
Assuming both sign, is this primarily an Amerks move? Or does Hickey have realistic NHL upside?
McNabb would be a borderline AHL
wreck would he have stayed with the Sabres.
Wasn't good enough for the Kings.
Has played awful in the final.
Let's see how he does next year.
Except the draft picks there is not much lost in this trade.
Its not like he is an established top 4 guy.
I think Hickey has NHL bottom pairing potential, but that's about it. Sislo is just an AHL vet at this point.
Yep. Really was hoping he made it.Fasching seemed like a great kid and I was really hoping it would work out, but he clearly didn't take the next step he needed to last season. I hope he puts it together with Arizona and becomes a productive NHL'er.
We really should all just start mentally preparing for this to go full circle - Fasching to be selected by Seattle in the expansion draft in a couple years and being a regular in a deep playoff run Seattle's first season. The Sabres have a long history of providing 3rd and 4th liners to the rest of the league. I think Fasching will have an NHL career eventually. Sad to see him go, because of his back story with his two siblings being profoundly mentally/physically disabled.
Is this right? I don't trust Paul Hamilton. At all.
