I want to share a personal story about Joe

Just before Christmas last year I caught a nasty strain of a rhinovirus that put me into Mass General Hospital for 8 days. The day after the Bills beat the Patriots a nurse comes into my room with a Wegmans shopping bag and said your food arrived and I am dumbfounded as I hadn't ordered anything.

The bag contained a meatloaf dinner and a Beef on Kimmelweck sandwich with a note saying Wegmans uses Charlie the Butcher - this should be better than hospital food. - Buff

He took a liking to me as he knew I was familiar with WNY even though I was from Boston.

My plan for Friday is to have Wegmans deliver me a couple of sandwiches.

Buff put me in charge of HF Sportsbook a few years back and occasionally would bet on the Bills or Sabres. Last March he went all in when the Sabres played in Toronto.

Just found out and saddened by this news. He was an awesome guy in my interactions with him and helped build an amazing community. He will be missed very much.

Condolences to Joe's family, friends, and the members of this community. His dedication and hard work, done with the utmost humility, have helped make HF Boards an important part of thousands of people's lives for many years. He was a pillar and will never be forgotten. RIP.

Buff once made a content edit that any time the word was spelled "Sabers" it would default to "Sabres" because it was a method people used to use to try to troll Sabre fans in the 2000's.
