Muzziotti has to be protected. He's probably a better prospect than Moniak.
Bruce Levine of 670 The Score reports that the Phillies plan to pursue Theo Epstein "aggressively" even though he plans to take a year off.
The Phillies have made no secret of their desire to hire an experienced and winning executive, so there's no better possible fit than Epstein following his exit with the Cubs. However, the question is how firm he is on his desire to take a break before his next act in the game. The Mets are also looking for a new president of baseball operations, though it's unclear if they realistically view Epstein as an option. Both the Mets and Phillies have talked with former Marlins president Michael Hill while New York also hopes to talk to Indians GM Mike Chernoff.
Honestly, that would probably be beneficial in the long run.Really glad they traded a potential 1-2 starter for two years of absolutely nothing. Harper will be gone by the end of the 2022 season.
Get ready for years of Pirates baseball
Honestly, that would probably be beneficial in the long run.
