I bet they sell out all the seats they set aside as seasons in two days, man the phones . They wouldn't want to commit the whole place to season seats. That wouldn't be fair to the average fan. Especially in a new market.

Im in exam time here with no job at the time so other than 3 2 hour periods next week I am going to be here waiting for my chance.

Not even that far. There seems to be no way for Canadians to deal with the NHL anymore without being humiliated in one way or another. I really, really wish I didn't grow up with the NHL. In a lot of ways, it'd be nice to be able to just turn the TV off and stop caring. I hate what the NHL has become in so many ways. But I'm still here, and just about to eagerly watch the Bruins crush the Habs...

I guess that's why Bettman and crew take the Canadian fan for granted.

I really wish I fluked out on one of these internet startups and had 500B. I would make it my mission to ruin the NHL. A 16 team Canadian League with profit sharing franchises and subsidized salaries to syphon all of the talent out of the NHL.

We pay a little over 90 bucks in the third row of the upper bowl in Edmonton. The average in Winnipeg will be MUCH higher than $50.

Well somebody isseriously incorrect.

I think there's going to be some massive sticker shock when Winnipeg fans see how much NHL hockey is going to cost.

Look at EDM, CAL, VAN and Ottawa ticket prices (Habs and Leafs in another statosphere)

THAT is around what Peg fans will be paying.

I think with those prices the expensive club seats are removed from the calculation because they are "owned" by corporations to distribute to clients/employees, IIRC.

AVERAGE won't be 5 grand, maybe 3 grand...........although there definitely will be 5 grand seats. Which also means there will be 1500 dollar seats

There just won't be any cheaper ones cause they don't have THOSE kind of seats in the MTS;)

This is still a big blowhard in Gary Lawless making this claim. I think there are holes in his story. the NHL won't pull the plug on Phoenix unless they know where the team is going but lawless claims the ticket drive will be AFTER the plug is pulled. That's jiust not logical.

That's what Lawless said alright... He said that the BoG would demand this ticket drive AFTER the Phoenix team was deemed unsalvageable and they have to relocate.

This makes it interesting. The Coyotes have to move so the BoG asks Winnipeg fans to prove it, but let's just say they don't for aurguments sake... Then what does the NHL do? Fold the team? Or still move it to Winnipeg and say " we weren't really serious about the 3 year commitment"? Or does the NHL have another buyer somewhere else ( which I don't believe they do IMO ) who will be the backup to the backup?

Based on the last pre-season game held in Winnipeg the prices would approx. be:

$39 = $1638
$49 = $2058
$59 = $2478
$79 = $3318
$99 = $4158
$119 = $4998

Those average prices are misleading as many of those teams are nowhere close to selling out their buildings at those prices. Assuming they do indeed sell out "all the time", $45 average for Winnipeg would put it well ahead of many, many US-based teams in terms of gate revenue.

The sad reality is the NHL doesn't want Winnipeg even now.

I am willing to pony up for season tickets. I am just unsure how they will make this 3 year commitment possible. Perhaps a down payment for each season?

It'll be something like 500 dollar deposit, the rest on payments. Get onboard now beg borrow steal (Maybe not steal, ok definitley don't steal) You have an opportunity to get in on the ground floor. Don't miss it. Split with a friend or family member. Organize a group if you have to. Just do it.

I think your numbers are a bit high... $119 x 41 games = $4879... and remember, season tickets are CHEAPER than single game price x 41... The question is, by how much? 20% 25% 30%?

Put in to have the Dream return

Really!!! Is everyone serious about the comlaining to commit for 3 years even on a rumored ticket campaign. With all the bravado the last 2 years this is a big let down from you so called Jets fans. All I have heard the last 2 years is we are the market, we have the support, the owners and the will to make this happen THIS time around. "We have learned form our past".
Well you know, if you really want the Jets then is commiting for 3 years really that much...really!
You would think the way everyone has been talking that they would sit in the MTS and not move until they died! Due to this reaction I can only (hopefully) assume that the writers here are young and not fully into the workforce yet.

If you thought that the Jets would be supported no matter what 1-2 years ago while all this was going on, what is the big deal in saying "Yes we can!" and put up to shut THEM up. If they say commit to three years tell them here is my money for 10, give me back my team!

Go Jets Go! see you ALL opening night

Sorry the price on the website for the PS game has a slight service charge built in. Bad math, but it does give you an idea what your looking at.

actually, this is a ballsy move by the NHL to kick Hulsizer in the butt and make him do something. It says as much in the article.

It also makes a statement to GWI to try to make things seem inevitable.

But in the end, it's TNSE going after early sponsorship from corporations.

What'll be interesting is how the Moose will react to all the rumor mongoring. Out in the first round with no push?
