The most weird thing is going to be another #68 in Panthers jersey?
They're insanely desperate for centers, too.include bjugstad in a deal for pacioretty and it works this year, we'd be able to resign him wit mcginn coming off the books next season. and our top-6 would be absolutely insane (along with our pp).
This still doesn't answer the question of what her motive was to go to all the trouble. Nobody works this hard to be nasty for no reason outside of movies and comic books. If it's Monika Caryk that's actually behind this it shouldn't be too difficult to prove. Amateurs think they can get away with this stuff by using a VPN service but actually from what I've read they're pretty easy to forensically track by those in the know. If the Karlsson's hired their own cyber PI and he/she was able to identify Caryk as the sender, then that information is already in the hands of Ottawa Police Cyber Unit for verification. The Crown Prosecutor is not going to just walk away from this and sweep it under the rug because there are sports celebrities and their Wags involved. This case is too high profile at this point and IMO will be resolved one way or another in the favor of Caryk or the Karlsson's. Charges may never be brought if the Crown Prosecutor doesn't have enough evidence for a conviction. If there is enough evidence to proceed to trial then the Crown Prosecutor also has the option of a plea bargain to a lesser charge if the defendant accepts. These charges are public record and normally don't remain sealed. The other option for both parties is in civil court and at that point one or both parties could agree to settle out of court or drop the lawsuit.

The Panthers have too many left wingers as it is. They aren’t adding Patches unless the Habs are giving him away.A couple of observations. The acquisition of Hoffman eliminates any need for Patches, who we cannot afford to resign in any event. Having filled our pressing need for a scorer, having signed our young core, having stocked young talent etc., our rebuild is now over. We now need to draft well, restock the prospect pool on D and take advantage of trade opportunities.
Just a fair warning that just because some Joe says we're in on Pacioretty means absolutely nothing. It could be some Montreal source telling that Murphy guy that we're interested to drive up the price for the teams that are actually in, or it could be an FLA source faking to Murphy that we're interested to drive up the price for the other teams and make them lose more in a trade. Or, it could be Murphy making up something that's entirely possible but not legit just to get RTs and likes.
Take these types of tweets with a grain of salt.
Agreed.Much happier with Hoffman and the price we paid than signing Kovy to what he got. Will be interesting to see how each of them do over the next three years.
Or they both could be just bat**** crazy
Is emulating Jagr while a kid the reason Hoffman originally wanted to wear #68, or is there another reason? If there even is a special reason for it beyond 8, 18 or 28 weren't available on a team somewhere along his way up.The most weird thing is going to be another #68 in Panthers jersey?
Not sure if this was mentioned already, but just noticed that Hoffman played on the Sea Dogs with Huberdeau and Gallant in Huby's first Jr. year.
Bring back Gallant!
yea i have him comfortably passing the 30 goal mark for the first time in his career this year. im thinking ~33 goals.Panthers fans are gonna love Hoffman. For those who haven't seen him much he's also a pretty good passer on top of his elite shot. He can rush the puck up the ice and is very skilled and elusive. He will easily score 30 playing with a Barkov or Trochek.
When the games get tougher and more physical you will see Hoffman shy away a bit at times. He doesn't like to get hit. On the defensive side he's been hot and cold. Sometimes playing on a line with Pageau and Pyatt relied on to shutdown the oppositions top line and they were quite good. On the other hand he sometimes makes very lazy or careful plays for example will let go of the puck when about to get hit, or will make a risky pass, be very slow on the line change, not cover his man.
Panthers have good enough players to cover for his flaws and he will be great.
