Christ sake, she's being given an opportunity to pick up her life and start over halfway across the continent and she's filing lawsuits and continuing to kick up dust over this?

Is this going to persist and be a distraction in the coming season?

Hopefully he's the sniper we've been missing.
he's not because were missing a ~40 goal type if we wanna compete for a cup but I see him getting 31 this year. don't know why but 31 is my number for him over 82 games.

He's got that powerplay snipe from the right circle-a reverse Ovi. It'll be interesting to see if he falls victim to the Panthers powerplay curse. All his PP goals the past 2 years are from that spot lol.

similar to trocheck's setup near the end of the season, from what i've noticed.

Yeah, cause the nine goal difference from 31 to 40 makes such a huge difference, considering we only have five other players in the top six capable of 20-30 goals.
yea a 30% increase in goal output. pfft, who needs that? what u literally just did was negate the gaping chasm of skill between a 30 goal scorer and a 40 goal scorer. its not 9 extra goals between my projection of hoffmans career year and a 40 goal guy. its the gamebreaking ability of someone like nikita kucherov that can mean the difference between losing and winning crucial one goal games. hoffman cant do that to nearly the degree that elite goal scorers can. so yea, just another ridiculously predictable response to my totally normal assessments of what would help our team not continue to suck for eternity. u know, the usual.

Kings didnt even have a 30 goal scorer I believe Lol.

Just a bad claim to make you know?
no I don't know. did I say the kings needed a 40 goal scorer? no. I said we do. not every team needs one although every team would like one. their roster was vastly superior to ours. they just needed gaborik who used to be that kind of scorer and still lit it up in the playoffs just like a 40 goal scorer would. just a bad comparison, you know?

Anyone notice how many GWG in OT Hoffman had last season!

Open ice for a guy who has the speed and a shot like that is deadly, I'm excited to see what he can do for us on the PP and in OT. He's an underrated passer too, 30+ assists last 3 seasons (I'm sure his shot creates a lot of rebound opportunities as well).

So why do we need a 40 goal scorer to compete for a cup when I gave you 5 winners that didn't?

And just because you score 40 in the season doesn't mean you maintain in the playoffs. And Gaborik didn't even play during their first run.

Because having six players in the top six all capable of 20-30+ goals, and a handful of players in the bottom six capable of 10-20g, certainly isn’t enough. OMG, where is the scoring going to come from???

SC winners top5 goal scorers (regular season) since 2010:

Kane (30), Toews (25), Sharp (25), Hossa (24) and Brouwer (22).

Lucic (30), Horton (26), Bergeron (22), Marchand (21) and Ryder (18).

Kopitar (25), Williams (22), Brown (22), Richards (18) and Doughty (10). Also Carter with 21, but he scored only 6 of those goals with LA.

[LOCKOUT, 48 GAMES] Kane (23), Toews (23), Hossa (17), Saad (10) and Stålberg/Bickell/Shaw (9).

Kopitar (29), Carter (27), Williams (19), King (15) and Brown (15).

Toews (28), Kane (27), Saad (23), Hossa (22) and Sharp (16).

Crosby (36), Malkin (27), Kessel (26), Hörnqvist (22) and Kunitz (17).

Crosby (44), Malkin (33), Kessel (23), Sheary (23) and Hörnqvist (21).

Ovechkin (49), Kuznetsov (27), Bäckström (21), Oshie (18) and Eller (18).

TL;DR, depth >> one player. We have 5 players that are guaranteed to hit 20 (as long as they're healthy for most of the season) and 4 of those won't be far off 30. Jakey's fixation on superstar players is more suitable to the NBA world.
