A few observations from the actual professional observer here:
A week to completely change structures and approaches is a very short term to expect results. The team is displaying change in the defensive zone and initial breakouts. The change in offensive approach is much less consistently seen. Player discipline is the one area where I'm waiting to see change ... penalties, coverages, all aspects.
We've played three games since Hynes actually had time to meet with individual players and conduct his first practice. Our goalies haven't allowed more than three goals in a game since that practice ... haven't allowed more than two ES goals in a game. The glaring downside is 0 for 6 (10:41) on the PP.
We're 2-1-0 since Hynes was able to hold a practice. If the team can take care of business against Anaheim and Buffalo things like the post season remain within grasp.
A new "observations" thread complete with a poll here trying to justify its existence ... well .... not really feeling that one.
