If you think he was going after him on behalf of "all the little guys" in the league. that's delusional.

The fact that he wanted to prove he was "the biggest lion" (bravado, machismo, not vigilantism), and ended up braying to the press after the guy's chin strap pops and he cracks his head on the ice is...pretty pathetic.
There’s a theme amongst the anti-Wilson contingent

Are people seriously complaining that Reaves "targeted" Wilson? Going after guys in a game is a part of hockey.

Watch the other hit where Reaves rocks Wilson. OV comes halfway across the rink to hit Reaves in what pretty easily could've been called a charge.

I thought the whole issue people had with Wilson, even when he was just late or never hit the head directly, was his hits were "predatory" and "intent to injure".

Apparently Reaves called himself a "lion in the jungle" after the game, and was stalking Wilson the entire game, telling him he was going to "get him" at every faceoff. If that's not predatory and intent to injure, nothing is.

So all of you defending this while complaining about Wilson are 100% hypocrites. Have fun with it.
I will. Probably watched the hit 20 times now, I laugh every time.

LOL. Reeves was not stalking Wilson all night on behalf of the rest of the league. He’s a goon who was trying to get one our most important players off his game or take a penalty and take himself off the ice.
All right guy who definitely watches him every night. That explains why he didn't once chase guys like McDavid, Crosby, Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Kucherov, Getzlaf, etc.

Its not Reaves' game to game habit to single guys out for hits. At least not since joining Vegas. He hits indiscriminatly based on timing and opportunity. Maybe he didn't do it for the benefit of the rest of the league but I'm certain Reaves has seen a guy with a tendency to hit guys (who by Caps fans own admission) are smaller than him, he'd take the opportunity to give him a bigger body to deal with and humble him a bit. It very well could have been Reaves trying to flex on another physical player. But it's not his habit to head hunt key players. Your accusation is barren of any factual weight.

It may have been hard to watch for you. The reality is, Wilson is known for headhunting , while definitely an illegal hit - It was body to body. I believe in an eye for an eye, while Wilson may have been targeted, the hit was much cleaner then what he is dishing out on a regular basis.

You wanna dish it out, take it too.

I never mentioned the hit itself, no issue at all with it. You said he was "wincing like a bitch". If you enjoyed watching him smack his head on the ice as he did, I don't know what to say.......

Wilson runs away from Ross Johnston, he wants no part of him. Johnston forced him to drop the gloves and Wilson didn't do anything but wait for the refs to save him.

He ran from Boulton too, and before his fan club enters and says he is a better offensive player then both guys, we know that. The point is, if your gonna take liberties you should answer the bell. Wilson has went with some of the tougher guys in the league but we've seen him dodge Boulton & Johnston like the plague. It is what it is...

Marcus F0ligno, Braydon Cobourn, Patrick Maroon, Ross Johnston, Tom Sestito, Chris Stewart, Bradon Bollig, Ryan Reaves (x2), Zach Sill....would you like more names of people who are as big or bigger than Wilson?

LMAO, that wasn't a fight, that was Tommy getting saved by the refs and dragged on the ice like a lady dog.

"And Wilson trying to get away", go figure.

Yes, the most likely scenario is he was trying to prove who is "the biggest lion" and then bragged about it when the guy hits his head on the ice. gross.

Love it, Wilson lays an unnecessary late, blind-side hit, engages for a second and then skates away at full speed, then in the same shift tries to throw a high elbow and gets his shit rocked. lol

If you are going to be the goon of your team, you have to fight other teams goons. When you are a fake tough guys who takes runs at people but won't fight the goons of the league. They are going to take runs at you. It's the way the NHL has always been. Fighting only still exist for the players to police players and he won't fight because he's a fake tough guy so they are going to take runs.

Except Reaves is a fake tough guy as well that would be horribly exposed as such if he played in a different era.

Totally fine with no suspension, however.

yes, Wilson's chin strap is truly a BAMF. Reeves, just a low-talent goon.
