It is never best if your 2 top players are wingers, no matter how good they are. Ideally you have a Defenseman and Center and I think we have that covered. Both Ehlers and Laine will be fine IMO. The vast majority of offensive players are streaky. Laine will have dips and go on long runs of scoring and Ehlers has the speed that can change the flow of the game. As they approach their primes Laine will have multiple 50+ goal seasons and Ehlers will likely spend his career as a 70-80 point player that can push the play forward like few others. At some point he will start thinking as fast as his feet move and he will become a force. These kids will be okay, all we need is a little patience. At the same age as Laine Scheifele was a 34 point rookie, and in Ehlers case at the same age Scheifele was on the verge of his breakout season after a very slow start.
