Yeah Nebraska has a name brand from back then to older generations but the fact is it’s a tough place to recruit to in the 2019 landscape of recruiting.
You don’t have that built in advantage of having talent surrounding you close by like other premier programs do. The move to the Big Ten has honestly probably made it harder getting away from Texas & all the games they would play there during the Big 12 days.
In the internet age it’s harder to find those under the radar type recruits either or not enough at least.
I imagined Frost is kind viewed like Harbaugh in Michigan. He was pegged a prodigal son from the get go (former player, connections to the legendary coach, best coaching alum prospect at that time, etc.). So he’s going to get a lot of rope other coaches very likely wouldn’t be afforded not just there but anywhere.
I think some got too much into that UCF kool-aid & thinking he was just going to do that again. Well now he’s playing 10+ P5 opponents a year & that’s harder to run through when you have a middling roster at best.
