Where do you come up with this garbage? 200 posts proving your brutal point wrong and you keep coming back with this$5-6 million for White in the bottom 6 !!! That makes Boedker look like a good deal.
He outlined how different the players are why did you ignore it completely? White is a two way defensively responsible player Brown is an offensive player that needs to play in the top 6, that has compete and consistency issues. They are so different and really are nothing alike from a stylistic or development standpoint.Didn’t White get “1” goal in all those games he played that first year - I’d hardly say that he cemented anything.
Either way, White coming off 1G in 19 games the Sens took a chance and let him start the season. That’s a pretty low bar. Brown should be ale to cover that. Offensively he looked OK two years ago and his game has developed since.
Exactly.. He isnt a top 50 prospect for a reason. The posters that are hyping him most are the least familiar with his game.I am of the belief that if Brown was going to be a Legit #1 more people would be talking about him and he would be too good for the AHL. I don't believe the hype until its warranted.

Nick Paul was just as good if not better than him last year in the AHL.
These two sentences back to back are kind of funny. Mann identified Brown as the guy that made the Batherson Brown Paul line work.
Personally I'll admit to not having seen a lot of Brown playing, some of that because of Brown's injury history.
But I do kind of base my hopes for a guy on how his coach, the guy MOST familiar with his game, references him.
To be fair, Mann also made some comments about Paul being the most improved player on the team last year, and Brown himself called Paul one of the best players in the league in March.
At the AHL level, there's a legitimate debate to be had over who had the better season. I do think though that Brown's skill set transfers better to continue in a similar role in the NHL, where as Paul likely tops out as a middle 6 guy if everything goes well.
Agree with all this but the Paul vs Brown part is sketchy a little. Even if i understand your point.Where do you come up with this garbage? 200 posts proving your brutal point wrong and you keep coming back with this

Brown needs more time developing as a top 6 talent. The sens have 4 centermen coming in to camp and 10 forwards on one way deals plus other prospects like Batherson, Balcers and Paul that are natural wingers, older and or more NHL ready.
If he starts the year in Ottawa its because if an injury and or he is a top 3 forward at camp (which would be best case scenario).
I am really hopeful that Paul makes it. Similar to Brown, I think there was an oil and water situation with Boucher. Paul looked pretty good in the NHL last year. I like having big guys that can skate
I was just highlighting the irony of those two sentences back to back.
Let Brown dictate where he should be by playing. That's pretty much my point.
After seeing that picture of Logan Brown, I'm now convinced that Logan Brown is going to be the next Joe Thornton. Or at the very least, a less goofy Spezza.

I've thought Paul should have been up since Boucher's 2nd year here. He's always had the skill set to be an effective 4th line center that kills penalties, kind of like McClement. But he's made some progress under Mann, and now I think he has potential to provide a bit more than just a big bodied penalty killer that won't hurt you at ES.
I think Nick Paul has a better idea than ever before of what he's going to have to do in order to become a regular NHL player.
The offence is a nice bonus, but it's going to be about relentless pursuit of the fundamentals and work ethic for him.
After playing in the WJCs, he might have had the idea that he can do it all.
I remember when Jared Cowen came out of Spokane thinking that he was some kind of all-around defenceman when all Ottawa wanted him to do was be physical and focus on defence. Those injuries didn't help, I"ll grant you.
Tierney more then JGP, IMO.Nick Paul and Logan Brown emerging could make both JGP and Tierney redundant by the TDL
Tierney more then JGP, IMO.
I find Tierney to be average at everything. While Pageau is a defensive specialist that can produce a little.
I could see Pageau playing a 4th line role and do his thing.( will he want to? :s ) While i feel Tierney need offensive opportunity. But if White and Brown are above him, then what his worth to the team? He can't play wing. I can also add Norris and let's hope Chlapik to this mix.
The big difference is that a Pageau trade needs to happen before the deadline. Tierney can wait until the draft or summer. I think JGP will sign in Ottawa for similar money, and I'd be very happy with that. Him and Chlapik/Paul would be pretty good as bottom 6 C's. Hopefully Pinto can jump in when Pageau is gone. In that case, I'd package Tierney with the SJ 1st or one of the 2nds to move up in the draft.I would prefer to keep Pageau myself, but Tierney is RFA, so I suspect he'll stick around longer out of the two.

IMO Brown starts the season back in Belleville until PD clears some roster space at the NHL level. I think that he will try & move all of the UFAs leading up to the trade deadline, Pageau, Ennis, Boedker, Boroweicki, Hainsey, DeMello & Anderson could all be shipped out if they can find buyers for all of them. That should open up some spots for Brown, as well as a few other guys.
What do you think will happen day 1 of the season if Brown comes to camp and shows he is clearly amongst the team's best 4? I think it is reasonably accepted that he is the most offensively capable. It seems he was in beast mode training this summer. He hasza clear size, strength and offensive IQ advantage and a clean slate with a coach. I think it is going to be interesting
While I agree with you it wouldn't be the first time someone was sent down until there was room made on the roster for them. He is young enough that he won't have to clear waivers & who knows exactly what the plan is, not just with this team but with the organization. Maybe they want Brown in Belleville to give them a good chance of winning the Calder Cup which could give the organization a huge boost given the NHL team is going to be so crappy next season. Maybe it has something to do with the expansion draft the following yr or his contract if he has a great first yr. Tkachuk, Brown & Batherson will all need a new contract in two yrs. Not to say he couldn't make the team out of camp, I just think it's unlikely given all the one way UFA contracts they need to showcase & move. What do you think will happen day 1 of the season if Brown comes to camp and shows he is clearly amongst the team's best 4? Ya the one ways might be a problem

I think it's bad karma to hold a guy back from an NHL pay cheque if he appears ready
