I wrote in comment # 242 : «…Then there will be very weak clubs: TBL, AVS, VGS ...
clip_image001.gif

Get stronger? Why is this needed? Stanley Cup !!! :)...”

Do you mean this phrase?
For a long time I thought about how to answer reasonably.
The level of question and answer must match. :)

I answer: :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Good luck.

They really do not need to go all in. Sandin, Liljegren and Robertson are all on the team next year and will be upgrades over what they have now. Depth players and maybe a goalie to platoon with Campbell in the playoffs.

By all in they mean they are willing to trade Robertson ? Otherwise I do not want the 32nd overall pick for Rakell and a average prospect. Would rather hang onto Rakell another year than trade for what is literally a 2nd round pick in a weak draft class and a average prospect like Lilegren.
Liljegren is maybe the Leafs' best prospect. He has outperformed Sandin for two seasons now.

Dear Friedman,

We are 3 days away from deadline day. Do you mind at least giving us a name. Which forward is TOR "all-in" on?

Also "all-in" is a gambling / cards reference. Are you saying that Dubas is about to do something extremely risky here?

In other news....all other NHL teams are not after the best available forward like the Leafs. Only the Leafs are. The Leafs thinking is so above everyone else's. It's been their secret of the success for the last 53 years.
So, shhhhh.
Give me a break.o_O

ESPN has an interesting article by Emily Kaplan and Greg Wyshynski.
“2021 NHL trade deadline: Six deals we'd like to see”. (7:00 AM ET)

Six NHL trades we'd like to see: Ryan, Hall, Driedger, more

I am recently on the forum. The first time I post a link to an article. I read the forum rules. I hope I'm not breaking the rules. :help:

Toronto - Anaheim deal proposed.

Toronto get:
D Josh Manson, F Danton Heinen
Anaheim get: C Alexander Kerfoot, D Timothy Liljegren, 2021 first-rounder, 2022 second-rounder

What do you think?

While I understand it must be frustrating to see a title like this, please remember it's up to you to determine how you want to interpret it.

For example, no one freaks out when "experts" predict that Columbus is going to trade their UFAs to pick up some assets at the deadline. Despite every rebuilding team likely using this strategy, it's a non-issue.

However, if the Leafs are involved in a generic rumor, you can bet that the thread will be flooded with people complaining about the Leafs.

It's a bad situation where the media knows that the Leafs have a huge fanbase and probably an even bigger list of fans that dislike them. So obviously they will exploit this for clicks, which leads to posts like yours that derail every thread that involves the Leafs.

If Dubas were truly all in a deal would have been done by now. Hes overvaluing leaf prospects and worrying a bit too much about the expansion draft this summer. I expect nothing significant at the deadline along with a ton of excuses about demands being too high & the obligatory covid excuses.

terrible value, and Heinen is probably not the best forward the Leafs will be able to get

The only thing teams really should be all-in for right now is two batches of COVID-19 vaccine....

Because GMs will look really stupid if they gave up the farm only to get utterly screwed in the playoffs due to an outbreak...

If GMs are smart, this will be the buyers market of all buyers markets...

Pass

Doesn’t improve the team enough to justify losing Liljegren and a 1st

If you were at a casino and had $100 left and wanted to go all in, would you blow it all on the first table you see? Or would you walk around, perhaps choosing a game that you are good at to increase the odds that your "all in" yields the best return?

But I like your answer more. It's way easier to claim Dubas is overvaluing his prospects, everyone loves a good jab at the leafs!
