The more this drags I feel like it's going to be a rental and not a "hockey trade". You never know though.

Hopefully the best forward they can get is Paul Byron and they claim him off waivers

I’d like to see them get Connor Brown. Hard-worker, they know each other well, no quarantine, he’s a goal a game guy now I think.

Could he help them?

It is for me. Nylander is a perimeter player. A poor man's Gaudreau. He's a good offensive player, but Tkachuk is unique. A 2-way power forward and pest who can score 30 goals. Name me another player in the league like that.

His closest proxy to me would be Kadri ironically

On Wednesday night hockey he just said this. He said all chips are on the table.

So... Who is the best forward they could get? A 3rd team could be used to make the cap work.

Pavel Buchnevich?

has to be Strome he is also from Toronto and signed for 1 more season.

Either Buch or Strome is a great fit, but top available costs top $ in this case.

TOR can go there, but no bargain basement offers for those guys, pls.

Toronto doesn't need "the best forward they can get"...

Toronto needs somebody to centre their 3rd line. Get that, and between Hyman, Engvall, Mikheyev, Simmonds, Thornton, Spezza, Kerfoot and Galchenyuk, they'll figure out the wingers.

This is a different scenario.
Howden + OTT 2021 4th for TOR 2022 2nd

Detroit offers, Mantha, Glendenning and Bernier in a package. Any interest and if so whats the return ask? Keep in mind Mantha is signed to a nice deal and with the leafs having elite playmakers he might thrive, glenny is the best faceoff guy in the league and Bernie has had solid numbers on a terrible team and is very underated

With 1,5 million cap space, they'd have to trade some big fish out. Perhaps Fredrik Andersen, especially now that Jack Campbell has completed his one-season wonder streak ;) But Freddy has an NTC, however he is an UFA after this season. How does it work with the salary cap when the regular season is almost over? Some pro-rate stuff? Do they just have to be within the limit by the beginning of next season?

Ok but he has been injured. Just saying, they acquire a LTIR contract, but Freddy on LTIR, they have 7M in cap space..

ESPN has an interesting article by Emily Kaplan and Greg Wyshynski.
“2021 NHL trade deadline: Six deals we'd like to see”. (7:00 AM ET)

Six NHL trades we'd like to see: Ryan, Hall, Driedger, more

I am recently on the forum. The first time I post a link to an article. I read the forum rules. I hope I'm not breaking the rules. :help:

Toronto - Anaheim deal proposed.

Toronto get:
D Josh Manson, F Danton Heinen
Anaheim get:
C Alexander Kerfoot, D Timothy Liljegren, 2021 first-rounder, 2022 second-rounder

What do you think?
