The bigger issue here is that sport betting advertising is illegal in Russia. The likes of Real Madrid have been forced to remove the Bwin logo from their jerseys while in Russia.

In jatkoaika it has been talked, that it's only rules of football federation, and it isn't illegal.

Personally, I believe that nordicbet has found out about all the law things before making deal. Not having stickers in Russia would hit them, not Jokerit. If it's illegal, its part of the deal to not wear them in Russia ,which I don't believe. No one has been able to find source that says this couldn't be done in Russia so far. It's more hope than any kind of fact.

My source has been this site and Russian posters, maybe they could shed some light on it?

5. Mikä on Jokerien tv-sopimuksen tilanne KHL:ssä?

can anybody translate?

EDIT
Total budget will be 18-24M EURO?

Jokerit CEO Kohonen says that Viasat has the all compassing rights to KHL and that includes Jokerit games. So it seems Jokerit did not get their own tv deal.

Also the budget seems to become bit bigger at this point. Korhonen says it'll probably end around 18-24M, depending on the sponsors deals that they'll close from now. They also say that their realistic objective is to pay all expenses with sponsor, tickets ect incomes, so Rothenberg wouldn't have to take losses that much after all.

As I said you many times and you did not believe me.

Because Jokerit owners said that they will get it.

I bet Veikkaus won't even react on Nordicbet sponsoring at all, unless it's really 100% sure that it's illegal, which it doesn't seem to be. They might know that with rothenbergs money, Jokerit can do all the court stuff and if they win it, also poor Finnish football league teams can then accept similar offers when they play in Euroleagues.

20 million is what they were hoping for initially and that window falls in that perimeter so vorky has no cause to gloat. ;) The final budget size will also depend on the ticket sale income.

The big question seems to be that Nordic Bet doesn't accept Russian customers. Will they be allowed to operate in Russia?

Also Finnish football would not be able to do so because a) the league sponsor is Veikkaus and b) Finnish clubs will never make it to CL nor Europa League. We all know that isn't going to happen in our life time.

I read that HJK was offered that kind of sponsorship deal for the games they play abroad, but they didin't have guts to accept it for the Veikkaus reasons (not the least whole league name is Veikkaus Liiga).

CHL hockey teams could use that kind of sponsor money any time. Though I don't really trust CHL comes big thing, but in case it does it holds sponsor value. Sponsoring things might be a reason driving Finnsih orgnizations wanting to play alot of meaningful international games outside Finland.

Veikkaus is also a main sponsor in SM-Liiga (Veikkauksen kultainen kypärä) so there's little chance they would go for it. Any European sports betting companies are a big no no as Tappara found out some years ago when they tried it with PAF.

But if they play abroad and outside of Lyyga, they could do it anyway, if Veikkaus first loses in court for similar case.

Veikkaus has won all court cases previously, there's little chance of that changing in the future. Besides, it would take lost of time and money, it's not worth the trouble. In addition, since the clubs are part of the ownership in CHL, they fall under Finnish law as well.

Could it be, that Jokerit actually wanted to keep it at Viasat, because Viasat is non finnish TV company, and it has no problem advertising Nordicbet? No one from Jokerit has said that Jokerit has not the right to sell the TV-contract. They only have said "Viasat owns the KHL rights (true as it has been) and Jokerit games will be shown on Viasat (this does not argue anything about who sells or doesn't sell the rights. It just fastly sounds like it.).

Could the guy have said it like that, because he didin't want to sound like Jokerit chose foreign company only in order to make Nordicbet advertising / whole deal work better and more secure?

Because for non Finnish company, it isn't agianst the law to advertise Nordicbet in Finland, or other betting companies. Finnish TV is full of those commercials in non Finnish channels and they are spoken in Finnish. Maybe Jokerit sold the rights after all, just didin't want to point it out.

Because the owners still said that Jokerit can sell it's own TV-contract, and they haven't said anything that changes it.

Well it has been stated (by vorky) that only the league can sell tv rights and not individual teams and tv money goes to them as well. And would it really surprise anyone anymore that they don't even know the league's own rules? Kohonen's statement clearly says Viasat has the all encompassing rights for KHL and that includes Jokerit games. The comment about using those rights means that they operate in multiple countries and offer different sports in those. E.g. they have Premier League in Norway, Sweden and Denmark but not in Finland because MTV3 has the rights. IIRC, they didn't broadcast KHL last season in other Nordic countries, only Finland.

As what I remember the comment by Jokerit having rights to do their own tv-deal was said by Mr. Harkimo and we all know he speaks silly things sometimes.

Good to see those budget numbers as the travelling will eat about 4 millions.

Veikkaus monopoly needs some heat...they get lots of money from sports but give so little back.

Where's the Jokerit centers and KHL regular season schedule?

Kurbatov, vicepresident of KHL, said that schedule will be late june, early july

Jokerit is good business for us tax payers. We might get around 40% of the player budget! (Thought the money will be used in some non sense by parliament, but still). Building competitive team here is hard for that reason..

The Rotenberg family is apparently intending to expand their existing hotel and congress center in Helsinki to include state-of-the-art training facilities for sports, probably benefiting Jokerit as well.

To my knowledge Jokerit already have more than adequate enough facilities at Hartwall Arena. By the way, that spa/congress center LÃ¥ngvik has been operating at heavy losses: http://www.lansivayla.fi/artikkeli/...telli-jatkaa-tappion-tekemista-kirkkonummella

Losses last year were 1,3 million euro (increase of 0,5 million euros) and in the 4 years it's been in operation, combined losses have been 3 million euros. Rotenbergs have invested 30 million euros into it.
