I was 21, the then future Mrs. Monty was 16 (although she lied to me the first couple of dates, and told me she was 18) and we attempted a world record at procreation. And that was over 32 years ago. What do you think a 23 yo and an 18 yo are going to these days?
I hope you're prepared to escort your daughter everywhere when she's a teenager. And when I say everywhere, I mean like the girls washroom, her bedroom, and anywhere else she will go. You'll also have to monitor every single phone call, text and email, and snoop through her diary and other personal belongings. There nothing you can do to keep her from doing what comes naturally if she so chooses to become sexually active. Nothing.
Not trying to be a buzzkill here, but I remember what I was like, what my future wife was like, and in fact what most of our friends were like. We just started a little later than the kids today do.
You have to educate her on the risks, answer questions honestly, and be open about it. Otherwise she's just going to do it behind your back without protection, and then where are you?
I'm not trying to be an a**hole to you, but you can't honestly expect that you're just going to enforce your will on your daughter when she's 18. It's a recipe for disaster. I should know - my son is 29, and was present at our wedding, albeit in fetal form.
