It's over. Not enough talent. Not fit. Cant skate...whatever

I am so sure this team can not win with Gaudreau, Monahan and Tkachuk as their top players.
Not even with a good secondary scoring and they have none.

At their best, this team had the skills to compete with anyone but not the character to go deep. Now their skill has evaporated and they have a fraction of the character they once had.

It's time to go full Ottawa. Get rid of everyone

Even some of those late 90's and early 2000's dark ages teams could beat the current version of this team. Guys like Valeri Bure and Freddy Brathwaite gave more of a

on a regular basis than these clowns.

but all those players are still here.

where did the skill go? Or was Gio just propping the entire team up and is finally old?

What a brutal spot Flames are in. Treliving seems to be a lame duck GM, brings in a big money coach for 3 years, a core that needs breaking up, need more youth and speed but the big name coach won’t want a rebuild. Probably only option is a reset by moving Gaudreau. He’s the most likely to go.

It's still there they just don't want to make the effort. Gaudreau will only ever play on the perimeter now, Tkachuk is to busy trying to be a Raffi Torres like player to make smart hockey plays, Monahan has given up doing anything other than scoring and he forgot how to do that too.

It's just such, idk, ironic timing with the way the Flames season has gone. Look back to a year like 2017-18, where the team is propped up by Gaudreau/Monahan technically/Giordano, but are exposed when their goalie goes down, and Monahan goes out with injury. It's safe to say the major needs since then would be to get depth and a goaltender.

Fast forward to now and the Flames have the best 'looking' bottom 6 of the Gaudreau era, and their first bonafide number one in a long time. It just so happens that in the time it took to get those changes made, theose same guys who propped up the team have all fallen off a cliff or are off the team. Brodie, Giordano, Monahan, Gaudreau, Ferland, Hamilton (he was a bright spot) all gone or shells of themselves. So while now they have the depth that should be good, (Mangiapane, Dube, Leivo, Ryan) they have come at the cost of their good RW's, and they now lack that top end talent that made them relevant in years past.

This team makes it so hard to be optimistic man. It’s very hard to see a situation where they make playoffs at this point

Trust the process.

A Sutter Treliving combo is pure process now.

Players now on try out with no untouchables. I feel like we will see only a minor move at TDL, but if Treliving can cook something up... We gonna be gobsmacked.

It is gonna be like a roller coaster. The first bit a slow click upwards. Then the plateau and fall... Pant crapping feeling and adrenaline kicks in and the exciting experience will begin.

Now is the time to get good odds on a $50 bet for the Flames to go deep.

Buckle up!

Edit : worth mentioning there's some crappy attitude with some players right now. I'm not enjoying that part. I'm betting that bunch of this will correct sooner than later via the process though.
