Holmstrom 1st of the year

Not going to overthink it and maybe it's because of no fans in the stands, but I can't say I love the kid's body language. He looked like he just scored a garbage goal down by 5 with 30 seconds left rather an early game tying goal. Just strikes me as odd, but then Scandinavian's can be pretty poker faced as it is.

how many Scandinavian’s do you know to justify your statement ? Asking because you got me thinking and I don’t know any and I’m in NYC every day and live on Long Island . Is Sarasota a hot spot ? Thanks

Sarasota is a hotspot for Germans, literally, they love it here in the summer. The hotter, sunnier and stickier the better. Crazy.

I know, or knew, quite a few Scandinavians, but not here in SRQ. I ran a summer sports camp in upstate NY for 11 years that had quite a few Scandinavian kids come over on various exchange programs and as you might expect I interacted with not only the kids but also their parents on many occasions. As a rule they were pretty taciturn, or at least more reserved than American and Canadian kids. Of course some of that could have been language related. I have also reffed a fair amount of international hockey but didn't notice it as much there.

we are guessing who will be there in 5 years. if you don't want to play, you don't have to. :thumbu:

Wasn't meaning to rain on your parade. I was just making a general statement, usually a team (D corps) isn't completely composed of prospects (I've seen this game played here since '05).

Play on. :)

If that means a lot of middle-aged guys in Speedos, remind me to avoid Sarasota at all costs.

I live in Central Florida (Tampa Bay Area) and my next door neighbors are Scandanavian. I know quite a few down here actually. I'm about an hour north of Sarasota, but at least where I'm at there are plenty of immigrants (mostly from Latin America or Europe), and tons of people from NYC and Buffalo.
