My question then is, wouldn't that alert other teams of your intent to draft said player? How does one maintain the secrecy of the draft in notifying the league and are teams privy to this request?

Theoretically, when a player is added, you'd have to think that every team then can see that said player has been added. Sounds like the risk a team takes, although likely extremely minimal.

I feel Sorokin is our most intriguing prospect. He's obvious our best one as well. I really hope this kid is the real deal because it would be fun to watch a player as exciting as he perform at a high level especially in person. Us fans need a new hockey jersey to buy.

Update on a former prospect:
Brendan Kichton, former 5th rounder from 2011, who never signed with us, has left the Austrian team he signed with in September, in order to stay in North America. Definitely hasn't worked out for him.

looking forward to that. big newkirk fan, think he's flying under the radar.
who's your top 10?
not a prospect guru, and i prefer the grinder, heart-and-soul types, so i would probably be a bit different than most.

that's awesome that you see something in Newkirk. tell us more! thx.

I started updating the chart but there were barely any updates, either almost none of our guys played over the last week or there were no games.

About Koivula, it seems that he is his teams 3C, after Lundell (11OA 20) and Broadhurst (an old AHL player)

Looks like Golyshev is doing pretty well at recovering from the covid.

Total remark out of left field here, but I've watched a decent amount of KHL this season and well, the general level of defensive play is excrutiating. I mean, the types of mistakes these guys pull out of their hats and some of the poor, poor puck decisions made often remind me of raw high school hockey.

I dunno if it's just this particular season, but it has really popped out at me.

I guess that's why you see quite a few career AHLers and washed up 30+ yr old NHLers as your top scorers in the KHL lol

Looks like Iskhakov has gone five or six straight games without a point.

A bit of a shame to see Holmstrom with just two points in nine games. I like the Allsvenskan and it's prolly the top 2nd league in Europe, but in the grand scheme of things, it's basically ECHL level hockey.

Yea, it seemed like Holmstrom was a healthy scratch past 2 games.

A bit puzzling going from NCAA to Liiga (particularly given the fact that he has yet to sign an entry-level contract with the Islanders).

Seeing as he was drafted by the previous regime it's hard to figure how much he still fits in the Islanders' plans (even though he was the 43rd player picked that year).

His preference was to stay in school, he said he went to the KHL to help out his family financially in the midst of the developing (at the time) pandemic. It's not puzzling at all when you consider the circumstances behind his decision.
