Mat Barzal will be tooth and nail to hit 70 points this year, and he's a hundred times the player Ho-Sang is.
I think at this point anyone holding out hope for Ho-Sang to be anything more than a short term "injection" of offense before fading away isn't being realistic. He might be one of those guys who gets a call-up and goes on a random 15 points in 25 game stretch, but I don't think he'll ever be a guy that will produce top line numbers over a full season.
Nah, that's doubtful ... I see him contributing 10G 35A over the course of a season, that is in the wild world where he actually makes an NHL roster and plays a full season. Still, I'd take that 45 points over Dal Colles 12 points any day.
One has to wonder how long Thompsons leash is. Dal Colle, Ho-Sang, Bellows, Wahlstrom, Holmstrom. The latter 2 are newer but he has failed to produce an impact player and it isn't like he's not getting talented players... projects, yes. raw? for sure. But that is what a good coach does, take that raw talent and develop it into an NHL contributor.
Our forward prospects are floundering under his leadership and it needs to be addressed. 5 1st round draft picks and we are still talking about how we are going to find "more pop" up front. Writing is on the wall my friends.
