Hynes is the Beau Bennet of coaches if we go by what CJ is saying. Decent stats but no actual results

Woof that was a weird interview, kinda uncomfortable. Reminded me of when my buddy's wife left him, poor guy had no clue, or answers as to why, in denial and would just ramble on and on searching for answers as he spoke, yikes.

If they're gunna keep Hynes, w/e...but plz...get rid of Kowalsky. Pk was much better tonight. PP was still the same old crap. A broken play off a nasty shot doesn't change that their pp still sucks ass.

This is not a legit criticism. He’s been bad overall 5-on-5.

Terrific shot though. They need to treat him like a Pp specialist

Yea it's really weird...I thought Gusev would be some stickhandling magician based on his highlight vids...but I guess bigger ice make a huge difference. Right now he's looking like a one dimensional goal scorer. It's not even just the defensive zone, anything outside of the offensive zone he's been really bad.

big ice hockey and small ice hockey are almost like different sports.

I've watched every Devis game this season because of Gusev. You are just wrong(as is Pierre, who was so annoying with his stupid "understanding" of the game. You are right with him on his assesment of Gusv's game and Pierre is not only awkward, he is just dumb and wrong on this. He just does not understand there is more to hockey than the canadian dogma).

Gusev is not a PP specialist. In fact he was one of the better forwards defensively. Yes, he does not play the dumb NA game, but that's again on the coaches, who squeezed out one win so far, so don't tell me they know what they are doing with their "system".

My guy. I like Gusev a lot but he has been awful in the neutral and defensive zone. He will get better as time goes on and he adjusts but there is no sugar coating it. He has been a liability in his own zone compared to the other forwards .

I guess it's the north american understanding of the game.

Because some anouncer said so or because you actually understand the plays?

Why do you come in here antagonizing our regular posters here who we know well who watch a lot of hockey day in and day out over many number of seasons... whom you don't know as well?

I've also watched every home game this team has played and Gusev is absolutely not a defensive gem. He is far from it. He makes a lot of soft plays in dangerous areas. A lot of risky stretch passes through the middle when the team can pick it off and transition quickly the other way. He isn't that good around the boards either. He sure as hell has a lot of offensive skills though.

We all like Gusev here, no one is displeased with him overall. He's got his own cult following in the area, he's got his own billboard play and chant when he scores a goal. But Calling him a defensive player is not really something we're seeing in the NHL ice. Can he be? Sure, maybe will take more time. Is he playing that way right now? No.

What an asinine reply. I have been watching hockey for 21 years and I know when a forward is struggling in their own zone. Get out of here with this crap.

Because I've watched him play 7 NHL games so far, in which he has been anywhere from sub-par to an abomination defensively.

EDIT: But yes, I also agree with the announcers, many of them former NHL players themselves. Though I'm sure you know better.
