Worlds becoming so soft now. It’s not like people are posting nude pics. It’s pics of super girl taken from a G rated TV show on the W network. This is just a typical PC baby post. Let’s just take everything fun out of the world.
Maybe I’m reading the room wrong but I think those lines might have been crossed a little. I actually don’t think anyone has a problem with Cloned’s passionate emotions regarding Supergirl. It’s more the increasing half second gifs of what looks to be a close up of a woman’s face mid sneeze, etc.

Let's be 100% clear here, because I would like to keep posting them. But if it offends enough people, I will stop.

If you stop, you do take on the risk of killing all the momentum, and anything short of an Oilers Stanley Cup victory would rest squarely on your shoulders. I think you have to ride this out until May.

A nice fringe benefit of this thread is I can now more easily identify a handful of posters who are just here to throw up the most contrarian, short-sighted and downright disingenuous agruments they can muster.

I can't speak for everybody but I highly doubt that Melissa is the issue for most.
Plus, you and Melissa are a package deal so if we lose Melissa we lose you and we kind of like you around here. Don't let it get to your head. ;)

This post is a New York 7. ;)

It is not too much to ask for to avoid posting sexual pictures on a hockey forum. There are posters here that are not comfortable with these types of posts, including multiple female members. Is it really "taking the fun out of the world" to make HFOil more enjoyable for others?

He wasn't directing his post towards you, just the board in general.

I don't mind your Melissa gifs, they're pretty funny, and I think mot of HFOIL share that opinion. And I haven't seen you post anything overly sexual in my time here. What @Mowzie and the rest of the advocates in this thread want is to stop the objectification and sexualization of women, which causes people to be uncomfortable, for whatever reason they have. You respect women in your posts from what I've seen, so keep posting what your posting. If people find it lame or boring, that's on them lol.
I think that's an understatement. ;)

Just read the first page. Even the bouncy gifs aren’t that bad. There’s no nudity and if it bothers someone they have the option to keep scrolling.

I guess you're standards are different from others. Quite a few posters here believe they're going too far (me included). And it would be awkward as hell if you're employer/child saw it while you were scrolling through. Plus it's not great ethically, objectifying women like that. Wouldn't it do us all a little good if we refrained from posting them?

5) Offensive Content: This is a site for ages 13 and up. Minors will be viewing our content, and threads are searchable on the web. Do not post slurs and stereotypes, sexually-oriented material, gore (human or animal), or any other potentially objectionable material. Our users are diverse in all ways so please respect that. Do not circumvent the profanity filter with alternate spellings/characters. Simply type out the word and let the filter handle it. Wishing injury on players or other persons is considered offensive.

Or do you want to explain how the bouncy gifs are not sexually-orientated

Now I'm curious about swearing.

I don't swear but I don't have an issue with it either. Does the swearing here make any of you uncomfortable?

So, in conclusion:

Different people have different perspectives, and we can all agree that posting near nude pics of women bouncing can be offensive to some, so let's refrain from posting them, and in the process become more classy fans. Now let's enjoy one of the best seasons that the Oilers have had in a decade.

Lmao, the commercials during broadcasts often contain more sexualized ads of women than the tiny Gifs posted here.

allowing people to post non naked women adds to the fun. Maybe offended posters should stop browising Instagram, Facebook, and the web in general as there are plenty of sexualized pop ups.

a case of a couple people trying to ruin the fun for all. Start blocking posters that post sexualized gifs it’s that much of an issue for you.

No, but I think it's simply because it's not difficult already to ascertain what someone is saying even when it is censored. Nobody, as far as I can tell, has taken it to astronomical levels yet.

I love the "the world's too soft waa" then proceeds to cry that they cant post boobie pics.
I know I'm not the only one who thought of the hilarity of responding with banana hammock gifs. I can only imagine many people who feel the "world has gone soft" would be oh so very vocal about the impact bouncing manhood gifs were having on quality hockey discussion.

I've been sitting on this one for a while now. I've been noticing more and more pictures/gifs posted of women recently, especially in GDT/PGT threads, and I have to admit the trend is really turning me off this page. I've been a member since '03, and find myself looking for alternative places to talk hockey now. It seems to be getting more and more gratuitous, to the extent that I'm not comfortable scanning HF around my family.

Does this bother any other posters here, or am I on an island by myself?

MOD-I just added a Poll to the thread.

I just added a poll and edited the thread title.

They're definitely the main reason I disconnect from wifi when browsing at work. Though one time a female coworker did see a fairly provocative one on my phone at work, and probably wondered what kind of stuff I'm sitting here browsing, lol.

And as I mentioned before, when scrolling thru it's pretty easy to skip over or just skim by swears. I mean hell, a lot of posters don't even read half a person's post before replying. But with images if it's there you see it, much harder to just miss or ignore so people have less of an issue with it

That and at least until recently the website auto filtered the language, that's not there for images.
