Agreed. I obviously like the lineup , maybe prefer it a little differently but I was trying to be as realistic as possible . I can really see this as the opening night lineup if Prokhorkin really does come over . I hope we sign a UFA dman though

So very much of our 2019-20 lineup is based upon the following 4 (or more?) undetermined factors....


1) Will we win the 2019 draft lottery?

2) Vilardi's health (or lack thereof)

3) Who's our coach? I do not see Willie returning....

4) Free agency....will (for example) Simmonds return?



I'll predict our lineup in early August.

I’m not sure even a number one pick will turn LA’s fortunes around.

I still think coaching is a big issue.

I have high hopes for Kupari but he may need a season in the AHL.

Losing Vilardi is just a bad setback to this team. If he can ever make it back, he has the talent to be a good addition and boost to the team.

Clague, Anderson, Durzi, and Phillips right now are decent prospects. Clague and Anderson are likely the only two that have a chance next year at cracking the team.

Toffoli, Phaneuf, and Carter just need to go.

Bring on a full youth movement please.

I think Kovy is a key to getting Prohorkins to come over I think the thought of him playing with Kovy is a childhood dream that may finally get him to come to north america

Sign Trouba;

If Trouba's motivation is to to get out of Winnipeg, he won't be signing an offer sheet. Given the option, Winnipeg would love to keep him so they'd match anything reasonable. This is why a Mark Stone offer sheet never made sense last year. Trouba can follow the same path as Stone/Zach Parise and apply for a 1 year arbitration deal to force the issue. Winnipeg could either go another year (and risk losing him for nothing) or trade him and try to get some pieces to help now.

Winnipeg does have some cap space. If the cap is 83 million, they'd have 25-26 million for Trouba/Laine/Connor and a handful of depth spots. They could open up some additional space by moving Mathieu Perreault / buying out Dmitri Kulikov. So they wouldn't necessarily balk at matching an offer sheet.

Rumor has it that Trouba (and/or his wife) prefer an east coast landing spot as well.
