the 2013 draft IS going to be in NJ. If he's available at one of NJ's picks, they maybe tempted to take him even if he isn't the BPA.

Most will agree. If he's ranked and he's available around NJD pick, I can't see them passing him. Not only that though, I think the rest of the league would respect the Brodeurs enough to let him go to NJD if that's what they wanted and it's realistic (I mean if he's actually considered as a draft worthy goalie)

I saw him play a quarterfinal game the U18 tournament 2 weeks ago in Pittsburgh. To describe him in one word; "chillin." He only allowed one goal in regulation, against a 5 on 3, and he tried a 2 pad stack and almost had it. He just looked like a true born goalie, like he really belonged there. The game went to OT and Shattuck came out on top.

Apparently the semifinal game, (same day... only a few hours later) wasn't as good, although I didn't see it. I heard "the Shattuck goalie" had a personally good game, but the team in front of him gave up bad chances and didn't score. I'm not 100% sure he even played, but even if he didn't, his offense only scored 1 goal, so there's not much a goalie can do.

Not sure where Brodeur fits in terms of being a prospect but it's interesting that he and Kyle Hayton split the goaltending for the Shattuck prep team this season. Sweden's Oscar Dansk is being talked about as possibly a fairly high pick in this year's draft. In the year he spent at Shattuck, Hayton handled the bulk of the goaltending when he and Dansk were on Shattuck's U16 team.

Yet I cannot find out much as to whether Hayton's committed to a school yet or will spend next year in junior hockey. And though he's a 1994 I haven't seen him (Hayton) mentioned in any draft previews (though I have a hunch his size might have something to do with that - Shattuck lists him at 5-11, 145 pounds).

Didn't Dansk leave for an international tournament and went back to play some games in Sweden at some point?

Shattuck is usually a pretty even split for goaltending duties, usually the only time one plays more then the other is if one of the goalies is out of commission (whether it be injuries or going home for a bit)

I don't know if he's any good, but man seeing his dad make the selection and pick his son was worth sticking around for. What a moment.

Really solid of the organization to do that and not let him go undrafted.

Missed it live, but will try to find it on youtube later.

Class act, great move by the organization. And apparently looking around the internet he's a legitimate project prospect.

Awesome, they might get a pre-season game together

I doubt it. They are more likely going to use the goalies that they have now. Remember, anthony brodeur was chosen in the 7th round meaning he is not yet ready to play in the nhl.

It's a pre-season game. I'm sure they'll throw him in there for fun.
