Katz is a fool. What other explanation is there for Chiarelli not being fired by now?

And goaltending sucks, fire Schwartz, PP also sucks so fire Gulutzan. Fire everyone!
The brain trust is super dumb. I'm pretty confident they see this recent dip in play solely as a result of Klefbom being out since it coincided with the big losing streak.
They're too myopic to see it's 100 reasons, most of which have been created by one guy.
This guy won't get fired until our assets are all gone and it's too late.
And before we crown McKingis the king of the board, can we remember he wouldn't shut up about wanting to trade Hall and Eberle? That's why people gave him flack, not because he didn't like Chia.
I wonder what kind of job Chia will get after this, is there anything he's shown to be adept at? Poor talent analysis so scouting is out, poor communicator so media gigs are a no go, ...
There are worse things in life than being an out of work millionaire.

"That's an experience move from a guy who has a winning past, with a Stanley Cup ring. We value that type of bravado, and we have full confidence in his ability at the helm." - Bob Nicholson. In other news Ryan Strome now has 7 goals. Thats now more than double what Spooner has “achieved.”
What does Chiarelli have to do to get fired? Waddle out to center ice during the anthem with his pants around his ankles and take a literal dump on the Oilers logo?

he will sit with brian burke and argue stupidity on sportsnet, like a canadian tv version of milbury
exactly and id tune everytime to watch that bumbling idiot defend his takes.I dunno about that. Burke and Milbury at least can finish their sentences without a ton of pauses and uhs. Chiarelli isn't exactly riveting TV to hear watch, as stupid as he comes across. Burke and Milbury would just yell at Chiarelli and he'd struggle to get a word in lol.
Giving a GM an allotted time frame before he will be assessed is a smart thing to do when hiring, as it would theoretically allow GMs to make deals that are good for the team in the long run. If such an agreement exists for Chia, it would certainly explain why he wasnt canned even after so many ruinous moves. Understanding all that, how long can Nicholson and Katz watch a toddler run around with scissors before stopping it? So many of Chias moves were aimed at “speeding up” the rebuild and the long-term damage is clear. This thing isnt going to improve from year 4 to year 5, so why pretend anymore? Fire this incompetent boob now!Hot unconfirmed rumor coming up. Comes from a season ticket holder who had drinks with Bob Nicholson last year and had a indepth conversation. Take it for what its worth
Basically, when he and Chiarelli were hired, Katz said they had a 5 year window/grace period. He was tired of the revolving door of GMs and wanted consistency. So promised them they had a long leash and 5 years to build a winner. They could make long term moves without the fear of being fired.
While I actually really agree with this mindset, the execution was horrible because Katz bet on the wrong horse. Chiarelli was already a burn out and a flawed decision maker.
But I do agree, that owners should encourage GMs to think long term and should stick with them even in tough times. GMs incentives shouldnt be short term like they are now. Most just make knee jerk reactions to save their job another year
I cant imagine Katz will keep Chiarelli after this year, given how horrible hes been

the accuracy shooting at the skills comp should have been chia in a dunk tank and the players sniping him into ice cold water
BS again.
You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I have seen Larsson play since pre-draft. And yes, oddly enough he was an excellent #2 in NJD 14/15 and 15/16. Similar to how he played in 16/17, a bit better to be honest. Last year no good, this year a bit up and down. That's because he's not a #1 but rather a #2. Put him as the anchor on the first pair and often he'll struggle.
I don't give a rat's culo about the trade. Trades happen, good bad whatever. What is evident though is that many are biased in the exact opposite way than what you descibe. Seeing as we lost the trade some use that to call him bottom pair garbage... The way that the D stabilized after he came is forgotten, the way most of his partners have great years playing with him (and praise him an excellent D partner), etc. Take him out and this already very fragile D core will fall once again.
The last misstake I really hope Chia does not make is trading either Klefbom, Nurse or Larsson. Would be a disaster.
Given the team Chia has built, he’d still be dry when it was over.the accuracy shooting at the skills comp should have been chia in a dunk tank and the players sniping him into ice cold water

Peter Chirelli is destroying the Oilers. 95% of his trades he loses and about 50% of those are so bad he is ridiculed by all pundits. He must be fired now. Nicholson and his audit needs to be canned too for letting this happen. Bobby’s biggest contribution so far is inspiring a $18 hamburger... Fire Chia Today, don’t make us die hard Oiler fans cheer for our Oilers to lose just to ensure this loser is fired.
