It’s nice to see the community so strong. before when it was just the TBL group doing the databases, I would get a good 20-30 years into it before the new season came along.

After when you, BK, and even TBL started to put out new DBs, it became overwhelming for me and I just wanted to do something simple. That’s when I started to play with the first rosters that came with the game (2015 TBL fake names database) and went from there. I never had the HockeyEttan issue (which is another thing that’s worrisome with a long term save - even though I only have the NHL enabled??) and prospects develop fine for me.

If you are selecting no other leagues you won't have any issues.

FYI - If anyone here is playing the ECK v4.5 rosters on a long term save, I'd love to hear about how the drafts are getting on. Particularly when you get to 2021 and beyond.

Started my first save with the new TBL database and while playing German teams the save always crashes on january 24st. Does anyone have or has had similar problems in the past?

I don't know if it's DB related, but players playing in Laval learn French instead of English, which should not be the case. Even if the environment is mostly French, game related stuff is definitely english. Same for Montreal. Does it affect a player if they don't speak the language?

I run all leagues beside the 3rd swedish tier since I read that the game has some problems with that. In game I changed all to view only and quick sim. No error message, game just closes

Don't run all leagues, that is the issue. There is a specific combination of leagues which is causing this issue which we have not yet identified. There is no need to run all leagues in the sim, even in View Only.

That is due to the providence settings for Quebec, players may learn French overtime playing on that club. Players who do not know French or English may have a longer adjustment period.

Yep. The new roster update has been pretty great. I do notice lower stamina than I'm used to but with a specific training routine it can be managed. I also notice relevant goalies in the draft, more so than ever before.

The game is running so much smoother than earlier releases. Before I would get to a point where my fans would kick in higher than I like to hear but now they stay silent. Day to day simming is also noticeably snoother.

All in all there has been a lot of great work put into the new DBs/Prospect generator. I'm really enjoying everything a lot. Many thanks to all who were involved with the work that went into it all.

Can't start a game with the new TBL roster. Never had a problem before. Tried the default settings and just adding the AHL which I usually do. I changed Nylander's contract on the last database otherwise I haven't done anything. Any suggestions?

Is a combination of the main ones fine?
Like all the bigger european leagues (Sweden, Finland, Swiss, Austria, Germany, Czech) and the North American/Russian ones?

Try unsubscribing, waiting a few minutes and re-subscribing to re-download it. Make sure you are using Retain All Teams, all other settings for TBL are optional.

Just saw you edited the database, which Nylander did you edit?

Running ECK 4.5 up to April 2024

2018 draft top 5 pts:
Kotkaniemi 481 gp, 311 pts (on my team)
Svechnikov 473 gp 268 pts
Dahlin 422 gp 262 pts
Hughes 410 gp, 184 pts
Boqvist 328 gp, 179 pts

2019 draft top 5 pts:
Kaapo 368 gp, 196 pts
Hughes 314 gp, 143 pts
Dach 287 gp, 113 pts
Heinola 350 gp, 109 pts
Soderstrom 237 gp, 95 pts

2020 top5 pts:
Raymond 233 gp, 208 pts
Lafreniere 245 gp, 158 pts
Mysak 159 gp, 125 pts
Hunt 170 gp, 56 pts
Simontaival 142 gp, 53 pts

Maybe it's just my playthrough, but 2019 draftees are pretty bad. Only 9 players with 100+ games played 5 years post draft. 2018 has 29 players and 2020 has 13 players. 2021 already has 6 players and 2022 has 5.

This should track appropriately as the 2019-20 draft classes aren’t fleshed out yet in the DB and we are not seeding those classes with added prospects.

Due to the wide swings in PA values this should be pretty randomized on each play through too.

Anyone knows the steps required to create a player like in the "EHM superstar" thread? I'd like to play around with creating players with specific attributes but don't know where to start!

You need EHM assistant.

A guy like Gab from the online community should be able to tell you how to use it, since he used it to cheat in his own league.

Back from holiday so plan on finishing up the rollout of the 2019-20 NHLX project database in the next few weeks. It's a pretty massive and universal update that includes feedback from the current season for major leagues and prospects and all the "extra" fixings the X database brings - key of course being the 36-team NHL setup and expansion. For those uninitiated with the project (and all the variations) over the years - it's what I would call a personal sandbox to play with the capabilities of the game and give users a simming experience firmly grounded in reality but with interesting new scenarios to play out.

That said, here's a sneak peak of the expansion draft setup as I ran it this weekend...this may of course be tweaked by the time the official rollout happens as real world performances/values and team depth charts fluctuate but it will give you a good idea of how the expansion teams are shaping up. I'll go over the full rules I used for the draft with the rollout but I did let Seattle do it's own draft first by itself and then the other 4 teams participated in a round-robin format of picking in a separate draft. Since Seattle is of course actually happening I wanted to stock them a little better.

In my test sims, Seattle has been performing pretty well, usually around 8-12 spots in the Western Conference, occasionally making the playoffs while the other 4 clubs tend to vary but they still often finish at or above teams like Ottawa, Minnesota and LA.

If you want to try the DB now, PM me...I'm not ready to release it publicly but I'll upload where it stands now for trial for people who are interested (along with all the graphics of course).

Toronto and Portland have 2 Habs. QC and Houston have zero. Seattle has 1.
