A lot of people would be against Lemaire but current roster is a Lemaire type of team.

Do you think this team is fit to play a more defense oriented game? I'm not sure if they are or aren't. I don't believe the current system is really working with the guys we have though.

The problem with Boucher is he's basically a more sandpapered version of Pete, though he'd probably be the most likely candidate from the outside imo. I don't see Maurice as an option because of his relationship with Pete. I don't see Laviolette as an option because I don't think Lou would put up with his whining/diving.

I don't see Lemaire v4.0 either...at some point Gramps is going to tell Buddy Lou to fix his own problems. I dread Stevens v1.0 but the only thing that stops me from thinking we're headed that way is he just hasn't been behind the bench long enough.

He was retired when John MacLean was coaching too.

Yeah, and Lou had to call him up personally and ask for him to return. Lemaire made it sound like he couldn't refuse but the consensus was that he did Lou a big favor coming back to clean up a big mess.

I don't know that for sure, I'm just making an educated guess.

But its 2013 now, Lemaire is a few years older and probably enjoying retirement. I don't think he is an option anymore at this point.

I'm tired of the odd man breaks, I'm tired of the constant forechecking, and many times nothing to show for it. I'm tired of these bozos in the lineup that have no business being in there over players who are sitting upstairs.

I don't see the problem with Maurice coming in and being friends with Pete. Who cares? DeBoer failed at his job so Maurice is the next guy to take his place. These aren't 12 year old boys, I'm sure they can handle it

Lemaire was also under contract at the time, so it was easier to yo-yo him back in.

The problem is its been way too long and the system just doesn't work for this team anymore. Its getting tiresome watching the Devils bang their heads against a brick wall over and over again with nothing to show for it.

It all starts with the coach, we need to find someone who will play the right players while also implementing a game plan that suits this roster.

I think he may be under contract now, or maybe it's just a year to year thing? He's still a special assignment coach and was around during training camp. Not sure if he's on a legit contract though.

We can't keep turning to Lemaire every time we have problems. I'm okay with getting someone in there just on the interim (No Stevens please) I really don't want Barr or Foligno as an interim either.

Lemaire doesn't coach defense. He coaches positioning. And when the team is as pitifully slow as this current team is, you need that kind of system.

Lemaire is old as balls and is probably bored out of his damn mind.

Yup this style of play doesn't fit our current roster. That's why I think Deboer needs to GTFO and stay gone. Along with our other castaways from that SCF team like Kovalchuk, Parise, Clarkson.

Also Lemaire would ****ing show Larsson where to be and would put Fayne in for Harrold and Josefson in for Gionta because he's not a complete ass hat.

Yup. He would also play the better goalie consistently (Not that Pete has ****ed up that one YET) and not make stupid decisions. No Salvador on the PP, no Harrold as the extra attacker, if even in the lineup at all. No BS lines, and he's not afraid to put a righty on the left wing or vice versa.

Clarktard I bet is still thinking about turtles up in Toronto....

Then Lou should bring him back so he won't be "bored". :D

DeBoer will be fired within two weeks, book it!

I'll bet all my vcash(since I never use it) that Pete won't get fired within two weeks. :sarcasm:

You know what I don't understand?

Why any Devils fan would be anti-Lemaire.

The one explanation I've seen is "He's old."

So?

I would love him back. I was very bummed when he decided not to come back for 11-12 cause I thought we would be cup contenders (We wound up in the SCF anyway) the next season with him.

We just can't use him as an out every time. He's almost 70 and he can't keep bailing us out. Will he even bail us out again this time? I'm sure Lou will ask, once he seriously considers firing Dumbeor.

I don't think it's realistic to expect him to come back. He's fine as a short-term solution but this constant yo-yoing is getting a bit silly.

I just voted yes because this team clearly has problems, which is fine, but I have not seen Pete do anything to acknowledge that these problems exist nor do anything to try to solve these problems, which is not fine under any circumstances.

The players have to step up - regardless of who the player is. Every game has been winnable even with the crazy lotto lineups he's been throwing out there.
