And the Bruins stood around for fear of losing an offensive zone faceoff

My bud I work with on casual Friday during winter would occasionally wear his OReilly jersey to work - he lives in Georgetown and friend of Terry’s going back years

He was so disgusted at that particular hit and Bruins reaction he said he was done with Bruins calling them a bunch of *****es

I was on fan advisory board at that time and me and my cousin were singled out and asked if we wanted to eat dinner with Chiarelli

We did and Peter was great. He even had a beer with us and I relayed that story. He told me that will never happen again - he signed Thornton off season rest history
Thank you. You should get a ring.

The funny part was we had a discussion about a game Calgary played in Boston in 2003-5 era when the Flames systematically took apart Boston 5-0 in a pack dog mentality that was one of the most impressive games I ever witnessed live.

Chiarelli was aware of that game and said exactly was a perfect game the Flames played on the road. The roster for Calgary was very well balanced and put together and Chiarelli all but said that’s your blueprint. Lo & behold he does the deal with Calgary to get Ference & Kobasew.

We also discussed building the roster backwards when you don’t have super talent and are remaking your team - like Bill Parcells did - building a strong bottom 6 with Players that would fit your team’s identity/personality

He was such a good guy it bummed me how it ended here and in Edmonton

His vision and ideas back then were spot on

not sure how many pts DK has put up this series, don`t care, on more than a few occasions (counted 2 times yesterday), when the Leafs were applying pressure, he calmly got the puck in the D zone and made the veteran play, didn`t just hammer it down the ice or blindly try to fire it up the boards, held onto the puck for that extra split second which opened up a lane for him to pass to his linemates or then to softly flip the puck out of danger.

what a PASS to Debrusk

that was like a Brady to Gronk play.... fake to the outside

that "elevated just enough to get over the stick and land right on the forward's tape for a tap in" is the most underrated thing about Krejci

he does it constantly to where its his signature pass.

I think we see it so much we dont appreciate how ridiculous of a play it is

Krejci does a bunch of ridiculous things every game that he doesn't seem to get much credit for.

I honestly think Krejci is a 3rd line and might be more effective on the 4th line. He just doesn't have the legs anymore and he horrible on the boards. He doesn't fight for puck possession much and his consistency is gone. In a lot of ways, his contract is worse than Backes. I think Backes should be wearing the A simply because he at least seems to care.

If he gets 68 points this year, then great. Great for us. Bet that doesn't happen, though. I might be wrong and I will come on here and eat all manner of crow if so.

:naughty:

on numerous occasions in this series when DK was on the ice and the B`s were getting a bit hemmed up, he gets the puck and immediately settles things down with a soft chip out or is patient with the puck and slides an easy pass to a winger. It`s those things that you can`t find on any stat sheet that are just huge

I do not know if anyone had mentioned it... BUT do we remember when we were in on Tavares and if he was to sign here who the odd man out would have been? DK .... he knew this and could tell he was frustrated. He showed up this season being healthy and consistent. I think it lit a fire under his bum. He has been awesome , showing us he still has it in him !

it'd be hilarious if the Bruins went after Tavares just to drive up the price for the Leafs and to motivate Krejci

I believe it was one or two shifts before the kuraly goal where krejci did exactly what you described - he didn't rush a clear and instead held onto the puck (he has a way of faking a pass and pulling back) led to a clean breakout and tilted the ice back for 60-90 seconds and it all started with that subtle play - he does this constantly.

The hit didn't look that bad IMO. Hopefully it's minor, though not playing in the OT at all is a bit scary.

I can only speculate based on the kind of hit.

Maybe a minor concussion, worst case is a separated shoulder. Probably the former, and depending on the severity, he could be back soon.
