I have a feeling that Krejci will be the Bruin chosen in the Expansion draft in a year. If one of their prospect centers can solidify a spot next year, I don't think the Bruins will protect Krejci but use the spot on one of their star wingers instead.
There’s no way they don’t protect Krejci. They can protect 8 skaters, right? Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak, Krejci, Debrusk, Mcavoy, Carlo, ???. I’m not sure if someone like Vaak would need to be protected.

7 +3 + goalie or 8 + goalie
Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak - Debrusk - Heinen - Coyle- (Krejci/Bjork/Senyshyn/Kuhlman/Kuraly/acquired player)
McAvoy - Carlo - Grzelcyk/Krug
Rask

Gryz/Krug will depend upon which one is still here. I think the Bruins will extend Coyle so the last forward spot depends upon if they get one of their centers to become a regular next year or not. If they do, they will expose Krejci to protect one of the wingers. Of course, this is just speculation because we will have 2 offseasons worth of deals and trade happening before the expansion draft.

On what planet is Coyle and Heinen more worth protecting than Krejci?

I’ve been a fan since his Gatineau time playing and dominating the league with Giroux as teammate.

We had many Gatineau games on tv in Québec and was very excited about what he could do for Bruins.

Founds out it was a top Cup winning player.

And he’s not done. Enjoy Bruins fans.

Your list is kind of confusing ... Krejci has to be protected due to nmc

If it's 7 + 3 .... imo

Marchand, Bergeron, Pasta, Debrusk, Krejci, Kuhlman, Kuraly
McAvoy - Carlo - Grz
Rask

there seems to be a lot of confusion about this. let's make it easier:
-krejci's contract ends in 2020-21
-seattle begins play in 2021-22
-krejci won't be protected because he likely won't have a contract at that point
-if krejci and the bruins want to continue the relationship, they just sign a contract after the expansion draft ends
-even if krejci was signed, seattle would not select a 35 year old center in the expansion draft

Kuhlman over Heinen? I like K2 but he hasn’t shown nearly as much as Heinen.

Either way I hope it’s Moore leaving with a draft pick.

Not protecting Krejci in favor of Coyle is like deciding to keep Ference over Chara or something.

If Krejci wont be resigned

Then Heinen may be picked

But if he has another 30 point season, next season... oh boy

Kuhlman if he is a staple on the 2nd line ... I can see some good connection with Debrusk for years to come

Krejci will be resigned. He’s finally 100% healthy and still has 5-6 more good years ahead of him. Unless Studnicka comes in and blows everyone out of the water next year, Krejci will be resigned.

I’m hoping 4-5 years, 5.5 million.

Due to age

It could be tight

By then will he be a third line center? Or on the cusp

It's kinda funny reading the alternating comments from, 'the Bruins absolutely will protect him' to 'there's no way Seattle would take him'.
Sorry for getting everyone so riled up.

Wouldn't that depend on his productivity at the time? First, they have to ice a competitive team. Second, Vegas bucked the trend that "all expansion teams are bad". Third, there needs to be a few vets who know how to play on any given team. What better way to show some young players how to be NHLers with the two time playoff scoring leader?

i guess never say never, just would be highly surprised if seattle grabbed a 35 year old guy when other younger
and attractive assets will be available. like i said, it's probably moot since the most likely scenario is krejci
waiting to sign.

Looks like the same player he always has been now with 1 winger with 2 years experience.
Glad your favorite player had a good year. Bruins benifitted. I wouldn’t say he was the player he has always been. If he was, he wouldn’t be getting criticized the last few years.
He definitely had more jump this year. That’s why I don’t want him on a line with slow wingers, it just makes him ineffective.

he's an older version of the player who has a Stanley Cup, almost 2. I get some fans have their issues, I don't agree with anything they say on many aspects of his game, but thats what debate on the boards are for
