closing on 10th in franchise history in scoring and 2 time leading scorer in the playoffs (i've looked up other players who have done this -- all elite). It's not at all far fetched that his number could be retired in Boston some day, especially if he plays a few more years and continues to have success. IMO it would be deserved.

I just don't see it right now. Obviously at the end of his career, we will have a better read on it. I mean look at Wayne Cashman. I never saw him play so I can't comment on him in those terms, but he is #4 for Games Played, #8 for Goals, #5 for Assists, and #6 for Points. He's not up there. I've seen many mentions of how it took them a long time just to get Middleton up in the rafters. I just think that needs to be reserved for the best of the best. Krejci doesn't strike me as one of those. Great player who I have always felt is underappreciated by a lot of fans, but the only guys I see on this team going to the rafters are Bergeron and Chara.

Good luck with that.

Bergeron and Chara are the only locks to be retired. After that Krejci has as good a shot as anyone.

Though whether or not he even does he still will be under appreciated by the fanbase.

He's a lot like Middleton in that way.

Great 2 way player, big time playoff performer whose greatness will be more and more forgotten over time behind their great teammates (Bergeron and Chara v Bourque and Neely)

His playoff numbers are great, I wonder where he is all time with playoff points?

108gp 32 goals 55 assists 87 points 0.81 ppg

Krejci has slightly better playoff numbers than Bergeron, so if Bergeron’s a lock I don’t see how it’s crazy to think Krejci could get up there too.

For reference, Bergeron’s playoff stats are close:

112gp 31 goals 55 assists 86 points 0.77 ppg

He needs another cup or two. 2013 could have been the 2nd but there is still time

Krejci is in 8th place all time in Bruins playoff scoring, right ahead of Bergeron. They both have a good chance of going top three when all is said and done.

If Krejci has another horrible, I mean good post season this year and scores 10 points, he moves ahead of Bobby Orr into 5th. 13 points and he’s tied for 3rd with Middleton and Bucyk. 15 more playoff points and he’s in 2nd all time unless Bergeron passes him. Keep underrating him though, he’s one of the all time great Bruins in the playoffs.

14:45 TOI 19 shifts 44% in the dot 2:55 PP TOI and not one shot.

Krejci has got to wake up during this stretch without Bergeron.

He is the Rondo of hockey players. Teams know he is allergic to shooting the ball/puck

Krejci also is allergic going hard to the net/taking punishment in front of the goalie

Krejci this year has no interest in shooting the puck, he just defers to DeBusk and hopes for a miracle it seems like.
38 shots in 27 games. Not shooting enough. But also not hitting the net enough either -- 5.3% sht pct. That's almost 1/3 of his pct the 2 previous season. His faceoff pct so far is a career low at 46.6%. On pace for his lowest season in hits as well -- 5 so far in 27 games.

hasn't scored a goal in 18 games and is 0-0-0 and minus 4 in the past 4 games

Is this because Bergeron is injured?

Hmmm, no. This is vintage DK- bursts of power and outstanding play, and then goes missing for a while. Spittin' chiclets, taking big hits. You wonder if he's playing banged up again.

Krejci (quietly:sarcasm:) moves passed Neely into top ten all time in points for the Bruins. Overall it’s been fun to watch him this year, I think he’s playing better than he was at this point last year.

Keep playing him with Marchand and Pastrnak and he’ll keep putting up points. On pace for 62.

i wouldn't mind seing Bergeron on the 2nd line with Debrusk once he comes back. Maybe this would give us more balance offensively?

Bergeron seems to be able to play with anyone.

i really liked Marchand-Krejci-Pasta last night

Kind of sucks about his shooting slump, that maybe he's breaking out of, but this is the best all-around hockey Krejci has played in years. He has been playing physical compared to the Krejci of the past several years. He has been more engaged from shift to shift. He has been making his usual elite passes all season long. Not his fault his passes end up wasted most of the time because a linemate fails to do anything with them, and he himself has flubbed a good number of good passes sent his way with his poor shooting. Finish, finish, finish. That's what has plagued him and his linemates this season. If the Bs ever get a scoring right winger with some speed who can finish when Krejci delivers his passes then that line would be absolutely killer assuming Krejci continues to play skillfully and engaged.

I sometimes wonder about how much more of a respected player Krejci could've been if he had an all-time sniper on his line, something akin to the Backstrom & Ovi relationship. He would've been special.

I wonder how he would have been if he hadn't been dealing with chronic hip injuries for most of it. I think part of why he looks so good this year is he has had both hips repaired and finally had a full summer to train from it.

Center makes wings great. Not the other way around

He's still been good though, even when he's had small fry wingers. I'm saying he would've been special he if he'd had that symbiotic relationship with a sniper over the course of a career. Not that this a common thing, mind you, so I admit that it's a bit whimsical to imagine.

I think about this from time to time

It's unfortunate for him that he came along during one of the better eras for the Bruins when there are two sure-fire retirements coming (Chara and Bergy) and a few guys with potential to do so (Marchand, Pastrnak and maybe an outside shot for a few others)

But by all means he probably deserves it. If he leaves after his contract is up, we are likely looking at
- 7th in points
- top 5 in assists
- over 1000 games in a Bruins uniform (will likely be the 6th player in team history to do so assuming PB37 does and ZC33 doesn't)
- likely top 5 in playoff scoring (currently in 8th, but only 5 points away from 5th place; and 15 points for 2nd)
- lead the playoffs in scoring twice

And thats IF he leaves at the end of his contract

That looks pretty damn good to me

the idea of splitting MBP up is considered heresy, but you might be on to something actually
