I think he had a decent game. 2 assists, neutral +/-, made some bad passes that resulted in turnovers... How do you think he did?

I think he personally sunk their 5 on 3 and one of his sub par passes lead to the shorty. He rebounded and played better in the game as it went on, but he was more of a passenger to JDB's goals than a catalyst. I do think that most people will only look at the box score and see he got two assists and assume he played well though. Which is part of the problem with discussing this guy. They use the stats to make a case he was good, when in reality his game was uneven at best.

agreed, he looked like a guy who maybe, just maybe was a touch distracted by the events of the day he just had with his wife welcoming a new born to the world.

But he`s done this more than a few times this year where a pass of his wasn`t nearly crisp enough or was just a plain bad decision. I dunno, I`ve never been a huge fan of having a forward on the point on the PP

I said he made some bad passes that led to turnovers as well as the assists, the good and the bad. You just choose to look at the bad. Even when I’m criticizing Krug’s terrible defensive play I acknowledge the great plays he makes.

No, I look at all of it. You said he had a decent game. I don't think he did. I think he had a very uneven game and personally caused the short handed goal with a lazy, blind pass, like he does all too often.

For the record, I thought Krug had a bad game as well, despite the 2 assists. And that was my point of asking. People all too often draw conclusions about good or bad play based on production. You can score a goal and still play like shit though. Or in this case, you can cause a short handed goal to be scored earlier and then have two tertiary assists and people ignore the shit play from before and say you played well. He didn't. Assists aside.

How is DK's career PPG average being higher actually elevating his linemates? Not for nothing, but the way that data reads is the other way around. His average is higher because Marchand and Pasta have elevated him.

It's Nordstrom's GPG average that's at a career high, so the argument still holds - that Krejci DOES elevate his linemates.

Fair enough. The difference between Krejci and Krug is I don’t think they can afford to lose Krejci. Maybe if they trade for Schenn then they can move Krejci after this year. Best you can hope for is they surround him with good players so he produces. I still don’t see much chemistry between him and JD.

We’re barely three years removed from teammate Patrice Bergeron doing almost the same thing. Bergeron had a goal and an assist against Philadelphia on Oct. 21, 2015, after missing the morning skate to be there for the birth of his first child, son Zach. (It wasn’t quite as perfect as Krejci’s night, if we’re splitting hairs — the Bruins lost in overtime.)
And then there’s Ray Bourque. His second son Chris was born three weeks premature on Jan. 29, 1986. Bourque, who’d traveled with the Bruins to Hartford the day before, took a $100 taxi ride back to Boston for the birth, carpooled with GM Harry Sinden to get back to Connecticut in time for the game, then scored the overtime winner and plus two assists.

Can’t believe these guys play those days.

Heard on tv the other day a Steelers wife was in labour while he was playing. That’s nuts.

My wife is Italian. And a bit of a spaz. I pulled that act there’d be a good chance I’d be in the news the next day with an injury.
